Early Play that Set the Tone of the Game

Early in the game there was a pass interference call on Alan Ball. Shortly after that call Portis ran for a touchdown.

I only saw one replay of that pass interference penalty, and it looked as if the receiver saw that he could not get the ball so he grabbed Ball by his shoulder pads so that the ball would not be intercepted. Therefore it looked like offensive pass interference to me.

On that same play the Boys intercepted the pass and returned it to near mid-field. The whole tenor of the game would have been much different if the Boys had the ball at mid-field instead of the Skins having a seven point lead.

Can anyone look at that play again and see if the officals got it wrong?

Thanks!

they absolutely got it wrong....their receiver ran into ball (the pass was well under-thrown, too). the officiating was pathetic: in the space of a couple of minutes, we had to successfully challenge 2 plays!
