Brandon Magee – The Cowboys had a fourth-round grade on the linebacker from Arizona State and were stunned to see him still around after the draft. His Achilles injury obviously hurt his draft stock, but the Cowboys are hopeful he can make an immediate impact on special teams and should be a great fit as an OLB in the 4-3 scheme. As long as he’s comparable to Ernie Sims, he’ll likely get the nod because of his youth and upside.

Jakar Hamilton – Like Magee, Hamilton was another player on the draft board (fifth round) who fell through the cracks. The Cowboys love his athletic ability and range to fly all over the field. He was banged up some in the minicamps and OTAs, but he’ll get plenty of chances to show he can stick around. If he does anything on special teams, he’ll likely make it.

Eric Rogers – For most of the summer, he’s been No. 14. Even now, he’s not really a household name and it might take a while for that to change. But this guy just keeps making plays. His 6-3, 211-pound frame is the perfect size for a receiver. But the fact this rookie from Cal Lutheran keeps making catches is even better than his size. Rogers might be better suited for the practice squad, but if he continues to perform like he did this summer, he’ll have a shot.

I like what Garret is doing with the team. He is building the talent base from the back to the front. I know a lot of people want to give him grief for the past 2 seasons but he is building for the long haul. Regardless of his record this year I think he will stay and we we will be a perennial in 2014. I think this was his plan from the start and I think Jerry is on board.

I'd be shocked if Rogers made anything more than the PS.... the WRs on this team are pretty much set, I doubt we will carry 6, the other guys I think have a good shot, especially Macgee..

the 5 WRs
Dez
Austin
Williams
Harris
Beasley

I believe we keep 6 WR's, with Coale being the 6th. If anything, if Coale shows why the team kept him around last year fighting through the injuries. Beasley will be the odd man out. And even as the 6th player, he may be pushed by someone like Rogers. but I agree he will be more PS material for now, without seeing him in TC.
Also keep a look out for Benford or even Green pushing for that 6th spot. Yes Beasley looked good at times in his very limited play, but was it really enough to say he makes the roster this year. How many times have we seen this before.

I think MacGee makes it also over Holloman, but he can be on PS though.

I don't expect them to carry 6 WRs while they are planning to carry 4 TEs(Witten,Escobar,Hanna,Rosario) and yes Rasario is going to make the team as the 4th TE because of his ST value, he was in SD last year with our new ST coach, ANd I would carry 4 RBs opposed to 6 Wrs and I think they will do that with Murray,Randle,Tanner and Dunbar, but you're right Coale may fit in there as the 5th WR...but it will be one of them because they bring a different element to the table, they are true slot guys... Harris will probably be the third WR because of that as well unless Williams really impresses on the outside and in that case Miles will be the slot.... I like the versatility of this receiving core because we can give a lot of different looks and line guys up in different places.

I don't think Beasley is a lock to make the roster.

I should have said Beasley or Coale, they need a true slot guy... one of the two are a lock, I'd say Beasley but it could be Coale

I don't think there will be 6 WRs or 4 RBs. There will likely be 4 TEs as you say and those are the 4 IMO. Barring injuries the first three are locks. A better H or F back TE could push Rosario off the roster but that's a long shot and it'd have to be an unexpected release of just the right guy during camp.

I think we will go long along the lines and DB maybe LB.

Stunning how much the roster will have turned over between 2010 and now.
