Dallas seems to be talking a lot about taking a WR early. Either it's a smoke screen or their trying to prepare the fans.

IRVING, Texas - When we first really started discussing the draft and the first-round possibilities I was arguing left and right about not taking a wide receiver.

And as we stand right now, I’m still not taking a receiver with the 16th pick. Don’t say – what if Sammy Watkins falls because he won’t. And even if Mike Evans falls, I just don’t think it’s the best fit for this team, but I certainly wouldn’t blast the pick.

A few weeks ago I might have. Maybe if this draft got pushed out to June I might be on board with taking receivers for the first few picks. Who knows what more time would do to a person.

I think I’m with everyone else when I say – can we just get to the draft already? Man the speculation is too much.

Actually think the WR talk is to get a team to trade up ahead of us and take OBJ.

Believe we want Barr or Donald and just need one or two 'unexpected' players to go high to push them down

Could be. But, I also wonder if they are looking at their board and coming up with the possibility that the best D-line and O-line targets will be gone and the WRs are their best rated for the slot.

I think it's because multiple draft scenarios have WRs falling. If that happens, WR might clearly be the BPA on the board. Kind of hard to argue not taking one when we clearly have a need and that's the best option. I think he's just covering his bases.

All true.....we just NEED interior linemen so badly, but all your points are spot on. Have to stick to your board sometime. WIth Austin gone there can be NO argument we need another WR....I would like us to get one in the 2nd or 3rd round though. I'd like Martin in the first and Beckham in the 2nd....probably won't happen...just what I want.

I believe the WR early chatter is just to drive up the price on what is expected to be the BPA at 16.
Beckham and Cooks look like values in that area and most mocks have them on the board.

Believe there is a drop off after those top 4 so 16 could have value.
