The real problem here is that we, yet again, may have ANOTHER future head coach lying in wait with a sitting coach (on the hot seat) yes, pun intended.

Nothing good can come of this.

Why does there have to be a problem with this? Dallas hired Linehan because this WC bull that we saw last yr didnt work. But we also saw that JC isnt a very good playcaller. Or is spread to thin with HC and calling plays. Maybe Jerry saw this and told him its not working, go get somebody. Linehan was available so they got him. Callahan is a very good OL coach. Jerry doesnt want to let him walk because the OL is young and developing to something good. Fans talk about the media and how they stir things up, But fans do more of this then the media even puts out.

@Edwerderespn: Why would the Cowboys deny Bill Callahan chance to interview with Ravens, Browns? Source says because he's potential interim HC if JG fired

@Edwerderespn: Addition of Scott Linehan means Jason Garrett - in final contract year - has 3 staffers with NFL HC experience: Callahan, Marinelli, Linehan

@Edwerderespn: If Jerry Jones won't allow HC Jason Garrett to call own plays, at least now he's being empowered to hire the coach he wants to do it.

great, three with "disastrously failed NFL experience". how comforting.

Werder was infallible when the Garrett defenders needed TO to blame for reduced production of the offense...

All you have to do is look at the plays and passes that were run to see that it was a west coast style of offense. dinks and dunks

You mean we never dinked and dunked in Garrett's offense, using Witten or Barber and now Murray as check downs? I find it hilarious that the only close thing to a West Coast offense was our 5WR package, which was actually our most effective. That and more play action. Outside of that, there was nothing west coast about it. We don't even move the pocket and run bootlegs.

Hey..

Right now Callahan needs this job.

If he ends up leaving next year..

so be it.

..But I'm guessing if he does leave..

..he's going to want 2014 to be remembered as him putting together a solid OL

to add to his resume' at his next stop.

Just saying, Callahan has plenty of reason to do his best and then see.

I don't see an issue and I'll bet Redball can figure it out .

If Werder is being truthful about a source leaking that information, the Cowboys need to hunt that leak down and plug it. Obviously, as an owner, you have to prepare for every contingency, but information like that should never get out.

Notice I said "if" so you don't have to lose your cool with the mediot references.

Like this is a surprise..?

I thought that out the moment Callahan was hired.

Jerrah some times does some Crazy Ivan's..

but this is not one of them.

It would be hard to imagine current or prospective players feeling that they are signing on to an organization that is serious about winning a championship.

Has anyone ever considered that Jerry might be the one leaking stuff to Werder?

I would put money on the leak being Callahan (or his agent). The guy got demoted and now he's stuck where he doesn't want to be. He's a short hop from ending up as HC at Middle North Dakota Tech.
