journalism is the trashiest profession there is. Anyone who bit on that headline should be embarrassed.

This has no place on a cowboys board because it has nothing to do with the cowboys.

he's not a top 5 receiver: great goal line threat, average in between the 20's.

Lol. You're the same guy who said Terrance freakin Williams is better than Dez. You have no credibility in anything you say about him because you have some weird hatred toward Dez.

Besides, how's you boy TWill looking so far this year?

You'll have to excuse him. He's from the Bay Area and probably grew up a 49er fan. So he's got nothing but hate for the star.

That said, who really gives a rip. It's his opinion. Let him be wrong...

All you to do is watch the games. Lee is one of the best linebackers in the league. No he hasn't been healthy, but i don't think you can hold it against him. There's plenty of instances where players are considered great and were injury prone. Not just in football, but in other sports.

Yes, when talking about best ever, you certainly can hold it against him.

Does it make since to say Mike Tyson is the best boxer ever and you can't discredit it just because he never had a full career because he was in prison? That's idiocy. You have to perform. There are no excuses when you don't. Right now, Sean Lee isn't any better in Cowboys history than Dat Nguyen and Dexter Coakley. Are they considered best all time linebackers for Dallas?

What do you think his beef with Dez is?

He could be that he just forgot about Dez due to injury. This was a Reddit AMA anyhow -- people are firing questions left and right and he is answering them.

Yes, I know Nelson is injured also, however, you have to wonder if guys like Edelman look up to Nelson a bit and therefore Nelson is top of mind. Let's be honest here, Nelson is the least "possession-like" white WR the league has seen in 20-30 years.

Mostly, my beef is with Edelman, not his comments. His is an absolute dbag. I have friends in the sports media who have spent significant time with him and I have heard nothing but horror stories. He's a pretty good niche receiver, but I wouldn't be shocked if he has himself in the top 10 list. His ego is that big.

The fact he even left Antonio brown off his lost, shows me, it's probably just more of a list of players he likes. Because right now AB is the best WR hands down.

They asked him who his top 5 is, so he's basically just naming guys he likes.

I'm glad he left Dez off his list, it will only push Bryant that much harder, not that he ever lacked motivation... And if we are fortunate enough to meet up with the Patriots again, you can bet that Edelman will wish he had not snubbed Dez...

Guys, you are getting into a very semantical argument here around the word 'elite', a word which consumes thousands of pages of NFL forum space each year.

My take is this.... it is <possible> for a player to be elite after 1 year because their talent shines so fricking brightly you couldn't help but stare. It's exceedingly rare. I maybe have 3-4 examples of the top my head:

1998 - Moss
1989 - Barry Sanders
1984 - Dickerson
1981 - LT

Marino in 1984 you could make a case

Whatever. He's average and wouldn't be without illegal pick plays and one of the the greatest qb's. I hate New England and if there is any justice we will stomp them in February and someone will knock him out of the game for trying to set a pick.

**^* him.

Clearly one man's opinion. Doesn't surprise me that a small feisty WR has Steve Smith ranked that high. Jordy Nelson is more surprising IMO.

You have already stated there is a lack of evidence. So, everything you are now saying, it's completely and utterly pointless.

OBJ is NOT a better player than Bryant, Green, Johnson, and Brown until he PROVES IT. Key word: Proves. One year DOES NOT prove anything. Are we finished now?

OBJ is like Miles Austin, makes a flash but he is a bit hamstrung. Missed 4 games last year and was tweaked last week, not even sure he is playing this week.

As to the OP, Edelgirl has her opinion, I would put Bryant, Brown or Fitz on the list, and remove Smith and OBJ...Of course again that is just my opinion.

i wonder who good edleman would be without pick plays, and the GOAT as his QB?

Edelman is a punk who deserves to have his face bashed in, just like Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski. The only one of those 3 that is even a real man and would have a chance in a fight against an average dude would be Gronkowski.

Man, what total crap reporting. He was asked to name his top five and he gave his opinion. We have no basis on why he has them ranked, could be that he just loves the way Steve Smith plays the game. He did not knock Dez at all.

I would have said he had a great season. But better than other established WRs? No. You have to consistently establish yourself to be a top 5 WR.

...in your opinion.
some others are OK with calling ODB a top-5 WR, me included. He absolutely is, right now, a top-5 WR. When you watch him play, and watch the others play, he's right there with them. He's been the 2nd most productive receiver over the last 16 games.
