Agreed. Elliott was a very wise pick. Will he hold up in the long run with his bruising style? That always the question when taking RB's so high in the draft!
I have said for the last few years Dallas needed to take a RB #1 and caught a lot of flak about it, nobody is saying anything now !!! You know who you are, and you are who we thought you were.

When this pick was made during the draft I was very excited about the possibilities behind this Line. I mean seriously why put together one of the best offensive lines ever and then put a average Rb behind it kinda of defeats the purpose. IMO Find an incredible talent to accent your greatest strength thus creating the scariest nightmare for opposing teams.

With months to still go before training camp i watched thread after thread arguing over this pick! some hated it, some loved it, some wanted Ramsey, so wished we kept Murray. It became sort of annoying i think for everyone after awhile. Then i saw a 2:20 Video on Youtube and I grew even more excited at the possibilities, here is that Video:

Here was another good one that made me want EE over Henry:

After watching this 20-40 times I found it very hard to contain my enthusiasm about the upcoming season. Many haters of the pick were worried about him being a bust, and there was lots of talk about taking a back this high. All i kept thinking about was how fast Elliott makes his decision and cuts and how little time the defense would have to react, not to mention according to SS how long the line would have to hold there block and it seemed downright unfair to defenses. The smile on my face grew wider everytime i watched this video.

FF to Pre-season and the Seahawks game and it seemed to good to be true. A true tease of things to come. Week 1 vs the Giants wasn't what i or anyone probably expected but looking back i get it, he was excited and it was his first game at full speed so he needed to adjust and calm his nerves and it showed. Look how fast he has adjusted to the game speed it is obvious the game is slowing for him. Here is an article today on NFL.com Terrance Williams says it perfectly.

Look at the Improvement each week in Yards per carry and think back to the video i provided.

Ezekiel Elliott + Cowboys Offensive Line Truly = Frankensteins Monster

Bengal game surely showed the NFL whats coming ! Teams will be dreading when this running game comes to town.

Awesome Draft Pick

Awesome Draft Pick

Yep. I loved the opportunity to make the pick once he was dangling there at 4 and loved our staff even more for having the intestinal fortitude to actually make the selection against the best wishes of the armchair statisticians.

Zeke the FREAK must EAT!

He wont but If we can get 5 productive years out of him then its a good pick.

Elliot is looking more like a # 4 pick each week, the long td run is what I have been wanting to see hope there are more of those.
He should be able to break some more long runs like that.

If you look at gurley, who everyone said was great, he hasnt done much, so EE has already looked better than gurley.
I think Elliot may continue to get better each week , and morris has looked good too.
Elliot needs 20-25 carries a game to break the long ones, the defense will tire out, and then one mistake and EE can take
it all the way.

I agree Don but funny thing is he averaged 8.9 yards per rush last week if he improves on that I may have a heart attack from happiness is that possible

Wow! You're right! I didn't know gurley has 288 yards on 105 carries (2.7 ypc) and 3 TD's. Good call.

One could argue however, Todd gurley would have equal success behind this oline as well.

Well that was due to the one long run, give him 5-10yds for that run and so subtract 50 from his total and then divide that by his runs
to see what his real avg was.
ok had to do it, lol and it comes out to 5.6 per carry. he only had 15 carries which isnt enough really.
That is still a good avg without that long run, I gave him 10 yards instead of 60.

I have been waiting to see him break one all the way, and was happy to see it finally happen.
I too hope he can do 1 every other game or more.

I dont think any of the highly touted back from that draft have done well, many fans wanted, but none have produced.
David johnson in ariz has done good, but isnt used enough or properly, and this crowell guy in cleveland is doing good,
not sure what draft he was in.

Also many wanted lamar miller, and he hasnt done very good in houston, but hey it is houston ! lol
I liked henry , and he has looked good in Tenn, but doesnt get enough carries.

Our OL will be presented with a serious challenge to protect Dak from a powerful pass rush to be put forth by Green Bay.

It's really great to know that we'll have an extra measure of reliable protection to be had from the efforts of Ezekiel Elliott.

I'm glad the team got the memo to stop trying to put bargains behind that O-line and got the best back they could find. Zeke is getting better every game and he's only 21.

They are doing well but teams will now be watching footage and homing in on their combination. We need to break the game wide open down field also, something we are teetering on doing but not totally. Romo was kinda good at this minus the stupid interceptions. It would be nice if it was possible to be a 2 quarterback team but suddenly sliding Romo in there would probably telegraph a long passing play.
