Agreed. Elliott was a very wise pick. Will he hold up in the long run with his bruising style? That always the question when taking RB's so high in the draft!

I think so as with this O line he should be taking on LB's and Defensive backs.
Not the 300 LB monsters.

When this pick was made during the draft I was very excited about the possibilities behind this Line. I mean seriously why put together one of the best offensive lines ever and then put a average Rb behind it kinda of defeats the purpose. IMO Find an incredible talent to accent your greatest strength thus creating the scariest nightmare for opposing teams.

With months to still go before training camp i watched thread after thread arguing over this pick! some hated it, some loved it, some wanted Ramsey, so wished we kept Murray. It became sort of annoying i think for everyone after awhile. Then i saw a 2:20 Video on Youtube and I grew even more excited at the possibilities, here is that Video:

Here was another good one that made me want EE over Henry:

After watching this 20-40 times I found it very hard to contain my enthusiasm about the upcoming season. Many haters of the pick were worried about him being a bust, and there was lots of talk about taking a back this high. All i kept thinking about was how fast Elliott makes his decision and cuts and how little time the defense would have to react, not to mention according to SS how long the line would have to hold there block and it seemed downright unfair to defenses. The smile on my face grew wider everytime i watched this video.

FF to Pre-season and the Seahawks game and it seemed to good to be true. A true tease of things to come. Week 1 vs the Giants wasn't what i or anyone probably expected but looking back i get it, he was excited and it was his first game at full speed so he needed to adjust and calm his nerves and it showed. Look how fast he has adjusted to the game speed it is obvious the game is slowing for him. Here is an article today on NFL.com Terrance Williams says it perfectly.

Look at the Improvement each week in Yards per carry and think back to the video i provided.

Ezekiel Elliott + Cowboys Offensive Line Truly = Frankensteins Monster

Bengal game surely showed the NFL whats coming ! Teams will be dreading when this running game comes to town.

Awesome Draft Pick

Dak + Zeke = "DZ" (as in "Demilitarized Zone") cause we straight disarming defenses. Lol. Had to come up with a cheesy one, too. ;)

Awesome Draft Pick

I said it over and over leading up to the draft. There are different strategies to employ with each pick, but with your first pick, you take the guy that doesn't just help one side of the ball, but all sides of the ball. That is what Zeke represented to the Cowboys. With him, you knew he could usher in a return to the 2014 identity. And what has happened? A carbon copy of the 2014 season to date. Even in 2014 they had a slow start, but once they had their statement game against Seattle in week 6 (which is what we are having this weekend against the Packers), from that point there was no doubt about the Cowboys...they were contenders.

As to rather or not this game will have the same effect, I am not sure, because the Packers have struggled on offense to date and haven't really faced a good offense thus far on defense. So should the Cowboys handle the Pack like they did the Bengals, there will still be naysayers suggesting the Eagles will be the true test. And to an extent, they may be right.

Awesome Draft Pick

I think Dallas decided on Zeke when they saw him play in At&T Stadium in his last bowl game where he went wild.

After that..they had to evaluate Morris with DMAC as the backfield.

Once they knew Zeke was possibly available with the trades to get the QBs at the top of the draft..

that had to clinch it.

But they remained quiet about Zeke and let the media fish around about Ramsey and Bosa knowing where they were going but couldn't hint at it because some team would trade up and take Zeke.

This was excellent smoke screening and with DAK and Zeke looking like rookies of the year..

Jerrah Jones is back at the top for GM of the year voting.

If Smith recovers from his injury and plays as expected..

our draft makes the Gold Rush in California look like small potatoes.

Add Brown as our safety replacing Scandrick..

And Malik Collins developing at DT..

and our draft is a bases loaded home run.

The story is not over.
