What legacy? He's an 8ish sack/year guy and I dont think has ever had one after week 10.
He's too soft and acts like a leader which IMO has hurt us year in and year out.
We aren't any worse off without him.

BUT...
After watching the game last week I want Ellis back whenever he can get on the field and provide some pass rush. We were a little better last week in my opinion about getting some rush on Eli to where he was 'bothered' a few times.
We should have sacked him like 4 or 5 times though because that Giants O line is not very good. I bet the Packers come up with at least 4 sacks on Sunday against them.
Ellis can help. That is a simple fact and from there I wait for him.

I suggest you look up that not very good olines sack numbers and YPC average from last year.
