not only for his play. But his leadership in the locker room and on the field.

Well, BP #1 draft pick will get his chance to prove he was the correct pick.

Let's HOPE it is not bad, because you are correct!

I think we all need to accept that Greg is done for the year.

we'll miss him on the field. however, he'll still be around and after surgery, as team captain, he may travel with the team.

Greg Ellis is a warrior. He was held several times today and still got lots of pressure. He is to be commended for switching positions and doing a fine job.

Do you think he is done for good? He is getting older right and was not really pleased to be changing position any way (though he was doing incredible). It just seems to me as if this might be it...I really don't know though and would like to hear other's thoughts.

For good? No. A torn achilles is bad but lots of players come back from it.

I think(just my guess) he tore his achilles and any time you do that, at his age, one never knows?

same here.

greg is a nice guy but we were a .500 team with him before today and alot of big plays on D against us. i think we'll survive just fine and help develop a young talent faster.

You don't know if it's torn unless you have an MRI. The fact that he can walk is more good news than bad news, but I don't think one can say how bad the injury is or how long a time period he will be out until the latter is done.

Isn't it ironic, although a shocker that both selected team captions will no longer be on the field for the Cowboys this year, this means the young guys have to NOW step up and because future leaders for this team!

The older guys could use some rest until they are REALLY needed...

I say move Burnett over and keep Carpenter on the pine...Burnett has more upside (if he stays healthy).

Yep, if there is a silver lining its that we will see Carpenter and Burnett at OLB now.

Personally I'm glad we get this to happen, i just dont like the circumstances. Tough break for Greg
