I think sometimes we over analyze I am committed to just enjoying the ride.My father in law and father are in a different place these days I know they are watching from above. This is an amazing year enjoy it.Bound to be some heart breaks along the way and some good things.Enjoy each of the games one at a time savor the games.Like life they all go too fast. But you will have your memories.

Going to make my superbowl bet here in a couple of weeks.I am sure the odds are way down on my boys but still it gives me an excuse to go back to redeem.I appreciate everybody on this forum, we have been watching awhile without any playoffs, maybe this year is the one.

Take some time enjoy each game --enjoy the ride, go Cowboys..

Good philosophy. As a sports fan, one must be ready to have their heart torn out about 99% of the time, making it imperative to enjoy the 1% when everything is coming up roses. Like you, I am soaking it all in.

Instead of falling victim to the insanity that is being an irrational sports fan, I think you're approach is the best one to take. Everyone should just enjoy the here and now. Don't get wrapped up into projecting an amazing finish, especially in a season that most folks seemed to have them winning 5-9 games. Just enjoy the fact that they've started off well, that they've come out exceeding expectations, and that their games will still be relevant in November, and possibly even December! Talk about being fortunate this season, at least when you consider that a state of the Cowboys address in late August would have been filled with doom and gloom by just about anyone.

The guys that are talking Super Bowl, comparing the team to the 90s Cowboys, etc., man I just don't get it. A healthy portion of them will be the same ones to call for Garrett and Romo's heads at the end of the season, so I don't know why they allow themselves to get all spun up whenever the Cowboys looks good for a while. As you stated, they should simply enjoy the ride.

Guys that are talking Super Bowl and/or comparing the team to the 90s Cowboys are enjoying the ride. You can enjoy present success and enjoy thinking about future success at the same time.

Actually, you're the one not enjoying the ride. By saying folks "allow themselves to get all spun up whenever the Cowboys look good for awhile," you're essentially saying that you're more cynical of their current success and don't trust it. In other words, you're not enjoying their present success one bit, you're waiting for the team to fail.

I'm absolutely enjoying the ride, I'm just not nuts. I know this group doesn't deserve to be mentioned with those 90s teams. I know the defense is not that good, and this thing isn't likely to end with a Super Bowl victory. That said, it's okay. Things don't have to end up that way for this season to be a success in my eyes.

I'm not one of those season ticket holders that doesn't start showing up to games until/unless the Cowboys start looking pretty good. I'm not one of those Cowboys fans that talks about them being world beaters after any victory, or one that calls each upcoming game a "trap." I'm not going to sit here and talk trash to fans of other teams like the Cowboys you know what doesn't stink, and then turn on the Cowboys as soon as things go south. I'm not a Super Bowl or bust guy whenever this team gets something going, only to flip out when I'm wrong, yet again. I'll leave that to the bandwagoners, and lord knows this team has always had an abundance of them. I'll let the nutsos go overboard, and then watch them do a 180, just like they always do. I'm simply happy to have relevant football to watch. I'm grateful, actually.

The last line in your sig makes me sad. On the other hand, the previous two are actually achievable.

Funny thing is, I made these predictions before the start of last season. I knew what we had in Demarco Murray -- I was touting him as the second best back in the league behind Adrian Peterson.

I've seen the Cowboys win a grand total of one playoff game in my life.

You bet I'm enjoying this ride.

That's cool. I'm going to dream of Super Bowls until I get my heart torn out. LOL.

The bad news is, you missed watching the greatest teams to ever play the game. I'm convinced those Cowboys teams could have beaten any other team in the history of the league. They were that good. The good news is, at least hopefully, you missed most of the subsequent Quincy Carter vs. Chad Hutchinson days, which were also the days when Troy Hambone proclaimed he was better than Emmitt Smith. That was a nightmare you just couldn't wake up from.

Actually, that was around the time I really started following football. I really started keeping up with the NFL and the Cowboys during the 1999 season. I was born in Texas, but lived in Asia during this time. I followed NFL football that season by reading English newspapers that a family friend gave us. Those newspapers, directed at a Western audience, had most game scores published the next day. Dallas went 8-8.

It wasn't much fun, not only being a fan of a pathetic team, but also not even being able to watch any of it. (Our family didn't have any NFL games on TV.) But hey, being in Asia meant almost no Eagles, Giants, Packers, Patriots, Steelers or 49ers fans, etc. to deal with.

First time I ever watched a Cowboys game was the 2005 season opener against San Diego. I was living in the US then.
