The salary cap is a real thing. It should always be factored into the equation.

Micah's the kind of player you tag if necessary. But if you want to talk "loyalty," if Parsons gets injured playing all these positions Quinn is asking him to play how about we see how loyal the Cowboys are to Micah if he can't play past that first contract? Loyalty is a two-way street. Fans tend to think only players are responsible for it.

I didn't say the salary cap shouldn't be factored in, I said an event that is 3-4 years away and that we cannot know how it will play out shouldn't be factored in.

Incredibly misleading title.. But... Anyway. I love talking about the best thing to happen since sliced bread in Big D. I've been around long enough to enjoy the last three Super Bowl titles. I've also expended a tremendous amount of carpal energy here gyrating about the last two plus decades of drought. So I'm feeling a little kinder and more patient nowadays. It'll come. We've got some major issues to resolve, like the elephant in the room... ie. Zeke's contract... But we do have a staff in place that seems to be making prudent moves. In Willie I continue to trust. The draft will be our friend in the coming years, and I have faith we will use it to our advantage (much like we did last year).. Every year is a lesson learned. From Jerry on down to the water boy, I believe several valuable lessons were learned this season.

He's nearly the only true positive to come from this season and the same when looking at the next few years... and you want people to not enjoy him and his uniqueness? I don't get it. I guess less Micah, more more so-and-so is over the hill/an idiot/overpaid threat (probably all true) or another "I've figured it out.. the problem's Jerry" thread?

The sports media MO since the turn of the century. They start and fuel the fire to declare youn players that had great-phenomenal rookie-2nd seasons in the league to be on track for generational greatness.
    Exhibit A: Patrick Mahomes
    Exhibit B: Josh Allen
    Exhibit C: Joe Burrow
(Notice the common denominator for those three?)

Why is sliced bread the standard for great things that happen? Why not ice cream? 2 week vacations? Power steering? Internet porn?

Frankly what true fan or team takes on the opposite direction with a skepticism over optimist ?

    - We are very fortunate to possibly have a game changer, a guy that can be a part of the discussion for NFL defensive player of the year.
Be our version of a TJ Watt, Von Miller, etc... a legitimate chance of being a " War Daddy " (and how long have we be saying and wanting that ?)

    - A guy opposing teams have to account for when the huddle breaks ?.. An impact tempo setter ? ... A game changer ?

    - What's wrong with wanting that ? much less being thankful to be in position to have that kind of impact player ?

    - Once you've found that kind of fountain cornerstone player, then comes the plan to build around him - get big bad fatties to help protect him, keep him freed up, ..
get his sidekick off- the ball LB to side with him, help him vs run and the pass.
One that can make plays in traffic vs run, match up in coverage vs TEs and RBs and cause his own game changing turnovers - The Big Upgrade over LVE . o_O

I just think we should appreciate his past effort, celebrate his accolades, anticipate more great plays to come.......Wait and see.....enjoy........and then watch what happens on this Board when his rookie contract is up.

I agree. Who knows what the situation will be then. Could be getting comparisons to LT, or Jaylon Smith, or anywhere in between. Could have an injury history. Might give a home team discount or be desperate to go to another team. Might quit football altogether and become a yoga instructor.

Well if Parsons only shined because he played against terrible QBs and terrible teams... why weren't other defensive rookies and most veterans able to have the same success against these same terrible QBs and terrible teams like Parsons did??

    I'll wait....

I’ve got this nagging feeling that Parsons career is gonna be a Khalil Mack story. He’s gonna ball out here for a couple years and hold out only to be traded to another team for a couple 1st round picks …….because by then it’s been proven that the team hasn’t won with the current overpaid players and a rebuild will be in the making.

    ….just a feeling

You've got to be in the running for dumbest troll but this garbage is so ridiculous. I don't have any proof but trust me guys he's just in it for the money. Meanwhile your greatest accomplishment is managing to down a bag of cheetos without taking a breath

This is the Cowboys fan base to a tee...anytime anyone has a personality and competitive spirit, we immediately question if they have ulterior motives or won't live up to the hype. Then when we are losing and the team lacks passion, we immediately complain that no one is trying to pump them up or show any emotion.

This defense was a laughing stock last year, and look where we are now with Micah. I personally think had Lawrence not come back, Micah would have broken the rookie sack record. He is that good. Let him talk. He is an ultra-competitive guy. Worst case he gets knocked down a peg and then fights even harder to climb back up. We need more people like him. And so what if he wants to get paid. Aaron Donald is one of the highest paid defenders in the league, and threatened retirement if he didn't get a raise. No one here in LA batted an eye at paying him. If Micah keeps performing like he did this year, he too deserves a massive pay raise.

Hence the issue here as patience is NOT a virtue here at our CZ and Parsons is already being hailed as the 2nd coming of Ware etc etc.
The promise and potential are there some of us just need to see a couple of more seasons to put this young man in the above class.

Yeah, but when someone tries to lie and make it look like Parsons only had good games against terrible quarterbacks... thats just a dumb *** statement.

He's sacked Herbert, Mahomes twice, Bridgewater and Carr... which one of those quarterbacks are terrible???

Now he sacked Heinicke a bunch of times, now if someone says Heinicke is terrible.... he beat Brady and the Bucs.
