Several in the draft and some left in FA. But in reality, no team is able to perfectly fix their weaknesses in the offseason. Every team has a weakness.

But there is no reason for the Cowboys to not address safety, especially when there are/were cheaper options out there.

Most teams end up with holes because of cap issues, etc. That's not an excuse for this club. They have the space to bring in a vet S who would supplant Heath. They choose not (up until this point with few options left) because I suspect, they think Heath is a really good S and that they would only upgrade him with a true superstar willing to take a cheap contract.

The classic case of them overvaluing one of their players. Heath is a bottom third of the league starting safety in this league.

Seems to me that if Dallas is definitely set on signing a safety that there are several others available besides Berry. If they aren't bringing them in yet then tells me that they are waiting on Berry to see if some team offers him an Earl Thomas type deal and just don't see that happening. Each day that goes by is going to make the Dallas offer look better IMO so just maybe we can trade for Quinn and sign Berry. As to McDowell, just wish I knew what the medical was because sure that is probably the only holdup.

For your information:
"However, Berry met with noted foot specialist and Packers associate team physician Dr. Robert Anderson after the season, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, so the Packers should have a good idea about where he's at health-wise."

"If he's healthy enough to play at a high level and the price is right, Berry could team with Amos to give the Packers a terrific safety duo in 2019. It'd be a risk, but it's a risk the Packers should seriously consider after the massive problems they suffered through at safety last season."

The Cowboys a have done the same due diligence for the injury. So now its wait and see if Jerry and Stephen are better salesmen.

I can understand why the Cowboys were reluctant to sign him. He's an aging safety who has been bother by injuries lately. Hence, KC decided to let him go. The Cowboys, in turn, just didn't want to award a premium contract for one whose future is so uncertain.
