Murray has been very good at #2 during his career. He often will dive into the ground in that situation. Seeing him do otherwise is the exception, not the rule for him.

If that is the standard, then yes he has failed. To say it is a concern kind of hints that he does it a lot like his current fumbling problem. He doesn't.

Both Dickerson and Dorsett's fumbling issues were in large part due to how they received handoffs. Neither took handoffs with one hand over the other - they had their hands side by side when they took the ball, and Dickerson used to extend his hands away from his torso:

• Dorsett had a terrific spin move that made him a great inside runner, but it also left him exposed for hits that caused fumbles.
• Dickerson ran very upright, and left himself exposed to similar hits.

I read somewhere that Dorsett was 177lb max. He was a slight-looking fellow when you saw him up close. But, boy, could he run. The reason I'm a Cowboys fan.

I checked on Wikipedia, .. it listed him at 192. That seems heavier than I remember.

Not if they get hit and fumble after the exchange is complete. Neither back left themselves in good positions to take hits early in a play.

True, but I would blame the o-line if the back is getting hit that early in the play. Both guys definitely had fumbling issues. That was a reality.

With all due respect, Wikipedia likely gets its information from team media guys. And team media guys are notorious for inflating height and weight. Even so, it's not a point with arguing. I really don't know how much Dorsett weighed. All I know is the dude was gggoooddd!

I had always heard him listed as 185 pounds, for what that's worth.
