Now I know Larry had a better career than Eric.

But my question is :

If Eric would not have torn his knee up in that car accident do you think he would have

had a career equal to or better than Larry's ?

I remember Eric just total dominating Reggie White one home game agaist the Eagles,

to the point he was named NFC Offensive player of the week. A very rare honor for a lineman.

What do my fellow Zoners think ?

It's a great question and one I've pondered over the years. Ultimately, I feel kind of ridiculous saying somebody could have been better than LA at his position. But I do think Erik was as dominant pre-injury as LA ever was. To this day, he is the one player I would fear most if I had to line up on the other side of him. He would literally kick your behind for four quarters.

I can't speak for pre-1985, but he was the nastiest OL I've ever seen.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Two different kinds of players.

Allen was a rare blend of athleticism and strength, but was also just a scary player to face. Williams was a fine athlete, but had a nasty demeanor I wish we had on our offensive line right now. But Williams was not nearly as dominant, in part to the car accident. But even before, his edge was his attitude, which I loved to see when he would make everyone's sweetheart Reggie White cry and blubber like a three year old.

Thanks ! I liked the nickname Big E

I only know because he is my All-Time favorite Cowboys player.

IMO, if he had not had the wreck and missed the 94 NFC championship game, the Cowboys would have won the Super Bowl that year also.

It's somehow Switzer's fault for the car wreck in my mind. I think if Jimmy had still been here that those guys had the fear of Jimmy in the back of their minds while they were out partying and would somehow limit their reckless behavior.
