It really is amazing what has not happened with Escobar, you would have thought the FO would have learned after the last 2 failed attempts at this. He is a receiving threat TE. That is it, but, why can they not be creative with him ? They know his limits, use him to the best of his abilities. But after 3 years on the bench, it is Fasano and Bennett all over again. Does he get 3 targets a game ? Red zone threat anyone ?
I thought last week would have been a perfect game to get him more involved - but no .....
When they decided to draft yet another 2nd round TE, there must have been the conversation "OK, we have to do better with this TE, this time around".
So I blame the coaches and FO more than I blame the player.
Waste of picks and talent.

People always say that, but then he goes entire games without a pass thrown his way.... is he constantly kept in to block or does he simply not get open? I kept thinking he was injured the last couple games since he did nothing

He can't block and has bumped down to TE3 now that Hanna is back from his injury.

Witten is TE1. Hanna is TE2. Most TE3s play special teams and maybe see 5-10 passes in a season.

It's not his fault he plays behind a ironman.

But it is his fault he can't beat out Hanna. You would think by now he can at least beat out Hanna for more playing time. It's not like Hanna was known for his blocking when he was drafted. Hanna was more of an receiving TE when he was drafted too and he got better as a blocker.

Absolutely -- Escobar needs to be used more, just like more people need to eat curds and whey.

I think they said he only got a few snaps against New Orleans, if that's true then the coaches don't trust him and he's not performing in practice. I'm really disappointed, because I felt he'd have a role this year. If it can't happen now I'm not sure it ever will.

Put him the slot or out wide, it's really not that hard to come up with ideas.

Maybe if Dallas dresses him up as a clay pigeon Weeded can find him and hit him?

Dude is way too soft. You can tell by his body language.

I'd like to say trade him but I don't think we'd get anything decent in return.

Must be a part of the game plan this week. We will serve NO threat with Williams and Street on the outside.

I did wonder when they threw to WR Street who can barely run with a bad ankle, why that was not Escobar at WR instead of Street.

Escobar was good in the very limited opportunities in the passing game last year.

He was wide open on that play in the Atlanta game where Weed threw deep to a double covered T. Williams.
