the thing I will say about Walsh and Jimmy Johnson...

walsh first 3 years: 2-14, 6-10, 13-3

johnson's first 3 years: 1-15, 7-9, 11-5

see the trend?

Belichick not so much. the year before he took over, the Browns were 3-13...
his first 4 years: 6-10, 7-9, 7-9, 11-5.
trended in a good way, but a year longer.

Landry I think was way too long ago to compare his beginning.

Cowboys before Garrett's first full year was 6-10...partially of his doing.
and after that: 8-8, 8-8 and ?? probably 8-8.

**Also, you cant bring up Walsh's early record without saying that in his 3rd year he won the super bowl.

Walash also "invented" the West Coast philosophy that is a staple today. Our guy is running on a very simplified version of our past offense.

Im probably going to get slammed by many members here for even posting these stats but I found them interesting. Look at some of the greats and how they started their HC careers.

Bill Walsh
1979-1982
24-33

Tom Landry
1960-1964
18-46

Bill Belichick
1991-1993
20-28

Jimmy Johnson
1989-1991
19-29

Jason Garrett
2010-2013
28-26

lol. Jason Garrett could be 38-16 if he knew how to manage the clock. This isn't an expansion team aka Tom Landry. Not to mention Garrett was not new to the team when he started. He had been the acting offensive coordinator since 2007.................umm...."He iced his own kicker"

Let's get this clear:

Jason Garrett is NOT a scapegoat. Other people have been the scapegoats for JG and now, he is getting what he righfully deserves.

You are just clearly wrong in my book. So it is YOUR clear, versus MY clear. Your's is more popular. Mine is more right :)

I don't think he wants to. I just have a hard time seeing the team respond to him if we struggle defensively again next season. And I'm dubious that we can fix the defense appreciably in the offseason with our cap and draft picks. Even healthy, we've got some personnel issues we weren't counting on with Ware turning into a pumpkin and Carter messing his bedroll on us.

Not only that, but the complete disappearance of Jason Hatcher, who I think has one tackle in the last two games is absolutely frightful. He might be making a few "business decisions" right now, and who could blame him? I'm pretty sure he realizes that the Cowboys have no chance of making any real noise, even if they manage to make it to the playoffs. Injury would likely ruin his big pay-day.

He has disappeared the last few weeks. GB was making a point of not holding onto the ball, and CHI has a pretty good OL, but, still.

I'd blame him for letting up, but I don't think he's doing that on purpose. The last thing he wants going into FA is an argument that he wore out late in the season, perhaps due to age or an unreported nagging injury. He's better off throttle-to-the-floor for the next two weeks, plus.

Last thing he wants going into FA is a serious injury that puts his long term effectiveness in doubt. Wore out is better than out period! An injury, especially a serious one, will drop his stock. He would realize this. Anyway, between him and Ware, as Simms and Marinelli would say, theys be stealin' money these days!

I think JG can get it done as well as anyone who is available.

What exactly has JG done to inspire so much confidence in you? Three .500 seasons in a row? There are many coaches that could do a much better than JG. His playbook is crap and he's lost his team.

Major changes are needed to fix this.
JG and his coaching staff are number one on the list.
