You may disagree until the cows come home mate, the fact is that there are a good chunk of people that think Romo lost his concentration over the whole Jessica Simpson affair. Like it or lump it-- thems be the facts.

And those are people who haven't got a friggen clue what they're talking about. Do they think Tony Romo is the ONLY QB to ever have a hot girlfriend or wife or family away from football?

Give me a break.

If it had anything to do with having girlfriends, or spending time with them, then you could lay that blame on pretty much every QB who ever played. I guess these people have found the secret to bad QB play huh?

Quick someone alert Ryan Leaf! Let him know if he didn't bother having girlfriends, or spending time with them, then he might not have been such a bad QB!

Most idiotic reasoning I've ever seen.

I don't doubt there are people who feel that way but so what that is their opinion and it means nothing. Many people precived that Peyton Manning could not win the big one after all he never did it in college and had failed in the NFL then he got the ring. Preception is what is in other peoples heads and who gives a damn what someone else may think. Is Romo to ask their premission on how he lives his life? Fact is you win everyone loves you and you lose and everyone is raking you over the coals and giving their own view as to why it happened that is the fact .

As much as Romo talks about "living his own life," I guarantee you he doesn't do that again if for no other reason than it creates a distraction for his teammates having to answer personal questions about their quarterback. (Taking a deep breath after that long sentence.) :)

He'll start to realize, it's not about Romo. It's about the team, and the impact his decisions, however innocuous, have on his teammates.

If Romo does or doesn't that is his choice. As for it is about team? I don't think the players around him care if he went to Mexico or not. Only people complaing are those who do not play or work for the Dallas Cowboys. You win and people will shut up you lose and it does not matter what or where he went. Ask Danny White, you never heard stories about White but when the team lost all hell broke loose and people will come up with their own sorry reason as to why.

I'm not so sure about that. He seems pretty sold on his "I don't care what anyone thinks about me" attitude. I hope he's not the stubborn type who will only resist even more as people call for him to stop being such a celeb... But I'm afraid he might be.

I hope you're right, though.

I think there's a lot of that out there. You can fight it or accept it as that's why people are as they are.

Emotionally we aren't as advanced as we think we are.

Hell I don't understand why someone would want tatoo's all over their bodies or wear their pants down around their knees. But obviously those folks perceive it to be the correct way of doing things. :)

Daym D101, you aren't likely to hear his team mates or the front office complain. That just isn't going to happen.

I expect Romo to go out and work hard according to the coaches and players Romo is a very hard worker and that does not come as a shock considering the guy started off as a backup undrafted player to being the starting QB and put up a pretty damn good season for his 1st full season at QB. Romo has not been getting in trouble or breaking league rules, Romo has not been showing up late or missing practice or mini camps and is doing the things he needs to do to get ready. What Tony does on his day off is his business. If people don't like that well then too bad. As Romo said at least I was not in Vegas getting drunk.

Hmm talent alone won't win championships, as evident by Dallas losing to the Giants... You have to have the attitude to be the best every time you step on the field.

The CHAMPS...are not on that list.

That's funny.

I'm kind of shocked that the Jaguars are not up on that list...

with how they finished the season, there's no reason not to put them on a top 5 list... That's going to be a good team next year.

IMO they're better than the Colts and the Chargers, depending on health of course.

Yes, that's his choice. Of course, it's also the choice of the media to hammer him for it. But if that's what he wants, then more power to him.

Second, you are correct. Winning is a great deodorant, as John Madden said. If Romo wins a Super Bowl, this will be insignificant as much as Tom Brady's model fling was insignificant. But until that time, he and his team will face additional scrutiny.

Third, it's not a matter of players caring as it is creating another "distraction" players have to deal with. You know, constant questions from the media about your quarterback and his Hollywood honey. I'd like to think that after a while players would rather not have to answer those questions.

The proof of the distraction is the reaction on this board. Look how many posters who think it isn't an issue getting upset or angry that it's even an issue.

Look how much emotional investment they've put in this issue, if only to defend Romo's Mexico excursion.

It DOES have an impact whether people want to admit it or not. Whether it SHOULD is another matter.

I agree but as I said you lose and it does not matter what you did. He could have been at Valley Ranch 24/7 and had lost he still would have caught hell. It comes with the job of QB. As for distraction for teammates? The media is always going to find something to harp on be it that or TO or some other issue. I just don't think anyone could live their life in accordance with perception. If Romo is doing what is being asked from the organization he is putting in the work not missing time and not breaking the law then people need to back off and leave the man alone. If someone wants to come down on his play that is fair game but the rest is pure non-sense and as far as who he dates again that is his business and has nothing to do with the game of football.

Did we get burned by biting on a single play-action fake all season?

not nearly as much as used to be, that's the one thing Roy in particular is a TON better about, Hamlin also is better than all the other FS we've had.

But that's what you want. (And I would want that too, BTW.)

That's not what will happen, though.

And I disagree with you. It is possible to be a vanilla organization. The Patriots try to do that (Spygate notwithstanding), as do many other organizations.

Yes, the media will find something to write about. But that doesn't mean you have to give them additional ammunition.

But you stating the obvious will not change the reality of it. :)
