IRVING, Texas – In addition to the 14 undrafted free agents, the Dallas Cowboys will have nine players in for a tryout during the team’s rookie minicamp.
The most intriguing is Cal Poly’s
Chris Brown. He was a quarterback in college, but the Cowboys will work him out as a receiver. He had two games in his career in which he ran, threw and caught a touchdown pass. Last season he ran for 1,084 yards with 13 touchdowns, and he also threw for 846 yards with 12 touchdown passes.
Two veterans will take part in the camp with tight end Justin Tukes and defensive tackle Tory Slater working out. Tukes spent time with the
Philadelphia Eagles last year, while Slater was with the
Seattle Seahawks and
Cleveland Browns.
The Cowboys will also have Texas A&M safety
Sam Moeller, Wisconsin tight end
Austin Traylor, SMU defensive end and long snapper
Zach Wood, Kansas running back
Taylor Cox, TCU wide receiver
Ja’Juan Story and Tulsa fullback
Mandel Dixon in for workouts.
