IRVING, Texas -- Cowboys starting linebacker Bruce Carter (quad) said he won’t play in Sunday’s game at the Seattle Seahawks. Carter, who was limping after spending some time in the ice tub on Tuesday, said his health is improving. “Way better,” Carter said. “The swelling has gone way down. I did some squats (Monday), some light squats, to get my strength back. All in all, it’s a process.” Carter suffered the injury in the Week 4 victory over the New Orleans Saints.

Damn. If Bruce is definitely out we really need Rolando out there and healthy.

This sucks. We need speed out there to handle Harvin, and Wilson.

If McClain is out we have NO shot at this one.

Light squats a heck of a lot easier on the quads than max sprinting.

I hear ya but it's Tuesday man. Were playing the SB champs this week...idk if I could stay out of that game!

It's probably the smart choice though.

I think it is a smart choice. Although I'd love to have him out there Sunday, we really need him vs our divisional opponents.

I doubt he suits up against the Giants or the week after. And I think LB McClain might be in the same boat. :(

Damn. I wanted to see Ro and Bruce out there together layin' the wood. Gonna be a tough get without him. Can and will be done though.

Don't rush him back. Plenty of divison games coming up.

Exactly, we need to get our LB's healthy. If it means one more week for Carter and or McClain - do it. We need them long term to be playing together. On a side note, was disappointed to hear yesterday that if indeed we do sign McClain to a multi-year deal. That would probably mean no Bruce Carter - too much money tied up. That's a bummer ! I think Carter has finally found his home at Strong side LB and would love to be able to keep him with McClain in the center and Lee on the weak side. Hitchens as first off the bench, maybe Toomer by next year, and man I like the sound of that ! Shame it comes down to money, as always. Find a way Jerry, find a way !

If it means we can have the player the following week in a winnable game against a division rival then there's only one smart choice. The odds of beating Seattle on the road are way too slim to risk reinjuring him.
