ESPN: Cowboys rookie Ezekiel Elliott denies domestic assault accusation

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott has been accused of domestic violence but has denied the allegation.

A woman who claims to be Elliott's former live-in girlfriend has accused the former Ohio State star of assaulting her while they sat in a parked car early Friday morning, according to a police report filed Friday morning in Columbus, Ohio and obtained by ESPN.

Elliott denied assaulting the woman and told police that he never lived with her. Four witnesses, including one who was sitting in the car at the time of the alleged incident, also told police that they did not observe an assault, according to the report.

Elliott, the No. 4 overall selection in this year's NFL draft, was not arrested and has not been charged with a crime.

Agree. The Brian Banks story is still one of the worst ever. A highly coveted 18 year-old prospect in LA, falsely accused of rape, found guilty sent to prison for five years. She gets a big settlement (then promptly spends it all), then is secretly recorded admitting she made it up. He was released and given a tryout by the Falcons as more of a nice gesture but was cut in camp.

He's a very personable guy in interviews who doesn't hold a grudge but he's better than I am. She ruined that kid's life.

If there are witnesses corroborating Elliot's story, and it is proven that he is innocent and nothing happened, then the hammer needs to be brought down hard on this woman. While I do not advocate or blindly defend cowboys players who are alleged to have committed assault, it is entirely too easy for someone to claim being the victim of domestic abuse when nothing happened and the media eats it up and the court of public opinion backs her without a shred of evidence. Look at the Duke Lacrosse players from 10 years ago. The media, prominent black activists and the Duke community backed that woman without a shred of evidence. Once it was revealed that she made the whole thing up, there wasn't a peep in the media.

I am not saying Elliot is 100% innocent on this, but I am leaning that way just based on what I know At the moment. If evidence comes out proving he hit her, then punish him accordingly and I won't lose sleep over it.

Elliott has told those close to him that the woman was upset because he wanted to break off the relationship. The source said Elliott has also saved text messages from the accuser that indicate she will make him pay if the running back breaks up with her.
