IRVING, Texas -- The Dallas Cowboys will take care of the formality of picking up Tyron Smith's fifth-year option on Thursday, according to a source. The move guarantees that Smith, the Cowboys’ Pro Bowl left tackle, will be with the team through 2015, however, the Cowboys want to sign him to a long-term deal as a cornerstone of the franchise. Smith’s agent, Joe Panos, would not comment on the Cowboys picking up the option or any talks regarding a multiyear deal.
