Is it so wrong to demand production out of people getting paid big bucks?

No it isn't.

Not at all.

But some people are quick to label you a "bad fan" if you're not thrilled with everything and everyone at Valley Ranch.

You can try to separate the money from the rest of the equation and both Barber and Williams are still disappointing starters.

It's usually the people on the bottom whining about what the people on the top are making, without knowing anything about what the job entails.

It's a little more complicated than that.

I don't hear anyone complaining about what Demarcus Ware, Tony Romo, Jay Ratliff, or Jason Witten are making.

I think it's completely reasonable for a fan of a particular team to be displeased with the money gobblers on that team's roster if they aren't performing up to the contract. It's not like their inflated pay/performance ratio doesn't affect the team and the decisions they can make in a normal year with salary cap parameters.

After all a lot of players won't delay a second to complain through the media if they feel like they have outplayed their contract. What's good for the goose I always say.

Serious question...why is that tact the only one anyone ever acknowledges when they whine about this stuff? Not once have I ever suggested anyone on this forum was a bad fan, a lesser fan, or not a fan. A very select few people do that and it constantly gets blown up as if it is some kind of epidemic.

When you use a condescending term like "whiner" in an attempt to devalue someone else's opinions or comments, that's exactly what you're doing.

People have varying opinions, never will they all be completely happy or completely unhappy.

Some are more naturally optimistic while others are not.

That's what spurs 95% of the debate around here.

No, I'm not doing that. We all whine. Every single one of us. It is part of being a fan. I just want to know why that particular comment is so prevalent. Like I said, you'd think it was an epidemic, and it is rarely even mentioned. "You don't agree with me, so you're not a real fan."

Phooey.

Barber needs to stay healthy and produce and be the threat he was a couple of years ago. If he does not he is gone after this season no matter what. Now no one will take a trade with his contract so he would be released. Barber was told by just about everyone from day ONE that if he did not change his style of running at least somewhat he would get broken down early. Now with his limited carries his first two years that certainly helped. However in the last two years he has been injured and relatively ineffective. And that came with increased carries. It seems wise to limit him and jones to maybe 15 carries each a game and what is left over give to TC. If Barber gets broken down again bench him and put TC in his place. Then release Barber after the season.

Phooey.

See it as you want.

You're using a dismissive comment in an attempt to devalue an opinion that differs from yours.

You didn't direct the term "whiners" at "all of us", you used it in reference to an opinion you didn't agree with.

There's a large group of fans who are quick to jump on anyone who doesn't support everything and everyone associated with the Dallas Cowboys and attempt to tell people what topic has value and what doesn't.

And many happen to be moderators, likely doing it without consciously realizing it.

Yeah because your comment, "But some people are quick to label you a "bad fan" if you're not thrilled with everything and everyone at Valley Ranch," wasn't at all dismissive. That was really a plea for all fans to embrace.

No, it was a counter to your original negative comment.

Two wrongs not making a right I guess.

You mean where I said there are ramifications? Yeah, that was over the top homerism demanding we get behind Valley Ranch.

Come on.

Has it occurred to anyone that maybe Barber is prolonging Felix' career?

No, the part where you used the term "whiners". That part exactly.

I have a problem when anyone treats others in a condescending manner.

I have great respect for you and your contributions to this site.

I just disagreed with you in this instance.

I will change the word to whatever you want it to be if you would just go back and answer the question rather than getting hung up on semantics.

What team in the NFL has a 3 RB rotation?
Last year the Jets, Commanders, Cowboys, Saints, and Dolphins all did. The Giants did before last year.

Who knows in 2010 yet?

I don't know about that. Injuries are responsible for quite a few of those teams using 3 backs. No team had 3 healthy backs and used them in a regular rotation that I saw. I don't think we had a 3 back rotation last year.

Here's your post that I found objectionable:

I've changed my mind and don't want to know. Thanks all the same.
