Could be a post week 1 signing

That's what I expect. They worked him out to get a look and see where he's at and what he might provide but aren't going to sign him before week one and have to guarantee his salary.

I think they'll try to get through week one with what they have and make a move or two for veterans afterwards.

But I wouldn't even activate Weems for Sunday Night. I'd have Collins active.

Looks like a no go on Brown.

Brown was released a day before Mills. It could be that they contacted Brown before Mills was released but went ahead and kept the scheduled meeting.

I'm starting to understand why they drafted Chaz Green in the third.

As to Chaz Green, I am giving this FO the benefit of the doubt. Seems to me they are preparing for the future - good thing, and took a fairly high pick to move into the line next year. Injuries happen, if he can at least get some playing time, practice time this year, I will still feel good about the pick. Yes, the present is a bit of a worry - but if Free can hold up for the majority (I do see him missing some time) the lines future looks bright.

Could be. But isn't Brown a vested veteran at this point whose salary would be guaranteed if he were on the roster for week one?

I have to think they would have some level of interest because between Mills and Weems, neither looks like they can play left tackle.

Yes, he should be a vested veteran whereas Mills ia not.

It's a weird situation where Mills is probably a better RT but has never played LT.

Yes it is. I don't know who the backup at left tackle is right now.
