IMO, this is Jerry at his best.

He goes the extra mile to make sure that no stone is left unturned.
He has always been that way. It can never be said he does not consider all options.

The key is whether or not he scraps off what is on the underside of the stones and drafts/signs them, as he has done in the past.

Don't think Jerry didn't see the team the won the Superbowl. They rolled out Colston, Henderson, Meacheum, Moore, and sometimes Roby chipped in. That included Shockey and Reggie Bush as well. Dez Bryant could add to our recievers.

Exactly... I wouldn't cry if Dallas drafted Dez Bryant.

I'd love to know where he is on their board (assuming they didn't disqualify him like Percy Harvin last year). If he's there at 27, maybe they take him based purely on BPA.
I'm sure he is higher than 27. Depending on who else may fall that is also rated 27 or above, they will have a decision to make. Trade down with someone who also values him that high or go for it and take him.

Everytime I see that Jones is still talking about Holley like he is in any way relevant it makes me angry.
That was Wade, but I do agree.

Those players have been linked because they are some of the best players in the draft. What team wouldn't be linked to them? And the Cowboys are already linked to every FA and trade possibility, the draft is no different.

Sure the Cowboys are going to be interested in Dez Bryant, but the reality is that it just wouldn't make any sense for them to take him in the first round, especially since they'd probably have to move up to get him.

We know our top four already...Austin, RW, Crayton, OTree...unless one of the bottom two gets moved (unlikely imo), there just isn't a spot to justify a pick that high and the amount we'd be paying to the position as a whole.

Maybe RW and Crayton deserve their cash, maybe they don't. But it's not the point when talking about drafting a WR. They're here, they're getting paid, and they aren't likely to go anywehre.

If there linked to them because there the best players in the draft, how come they haavent been associated with Suh, Mccoy, Bradford, Clausen, the list goes on and on. And don't say because those players are unrealistic and we got no shot.

The fact is they haven't bee linked to every draft possibility. You only get a certain amount of visit. It's not unlimited. They have spent 2 on Bryant and Lafell. More then any other position. So there must be strong interest. Even if you look at the list by Sdogo, a fair amount of players are Wr's.

And most of the names linked are going in the 1st or 2nd round. If Bryants on the board at 27, don't be surprised at all if he's the selection. Same w/ Tate, Benn, etc. Like someone else posted, you think Jerry didn't see the saints super bowl roster? How many capable Wr's did they have? 6? Bryant will only make the team better, along w/ any other wideout they've shown interest in. Theres definitely strong interest.

He reminds me of Brandon Marshall in a lot of ways.

I'm skeptical about my taste for WRs because I've been completely absolutely dead wrong about Mike Williams before, but prophesized Miles Austin's emergence as the #1 receiver last year (probably had to do more with my hate for Roy). I also loved Desean Jackson and Percy Harvin.

If Bryant slips past Tennessee at 16 I can see Steelers taking a look at him at 17 but after that I think we have a chance. Atlanta, Houston, Cincy, New England, Philly, and Green Bay are all pretty set at WR. We would possibly have to trade up in front of Ravens at 25 if he goes Brady Quinn on us.

I like the value and I like playmakers. Romo friendly means ink Miles Austin long term. Let Bryant learn the ropes this year, cut Roy after he robs us blind in 2010, and then we have 2 young solid receivers and you get Bryant at a bargain rate.

Ray Sherman is one of my favorite coaches on this team, if he can't make Dez a playmaker no one can.

There is more to these Bryant to Dallas rumors than you might think.

I don't like what I've read about this guy (Bryant).
.

Me neither. I don't wanna gamble our first round away on a punk who may only get worse once he has some paper to spend. Too scary, and we're too close to be screwing around.

You have to think all (or 30 out of 32?) teams do the same thing. There is way too much at stake.

I do think Jerry is more thorough than most. Not necessarily in vetting players in the draft, but in considering all of the angles (e.g., many possible trades scenerios, picking a kickoff specialist, etc.).
