ESPN - Eagles' stretch run is easier than Cowboys'

The Cowboys (8-3) and Eagles (7-4) both have tough schedules the rest of the way, but it looks like Dallas' path is a little rockier. The Cowboys' final five opponents have a combined record of 34-20, while the Eagles' opponents are 32-23.

That doesn't sound like much, but the Eagles' two remaining home games are much easier than the Cowboys' final two home games. Philly will host the Broncos and 49ers. The Cowboys will host the Chargers and Eagles. In terms of road games, the Cowboys will play the Giants, Saints and Commanders.

The Eagles have road games against the Falcons, Giants and Cowboys. With all that in mind, there's a really good chance that the Jan. 3 Eagles-Cowboys game in Arlington, Texas, could be for the NFC East title. And at some point, we'll need to start discussing tiebreakers. Obviously, the Cowboys hold the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Eagles by virtue of their win at the Linc.

The Eagles are 3-1 against division opponents and the Cowboys are 2-1. The Cowboys and Eagles are both 6-2 against NFC opponents. This is going to be interesting down the stretch.

Could lead to an extremely interesting game on the final weekend of the regular season. I don't agree that their schedule is really all that much easier. They're playing teams that will be fighting for their playoff lives and positioning. They're going to have a tough set of games just like we are.

Let's hope that Broncos defense is over their funk. That was the reason they were winning early in the season, and it's the reason they thumped New York. They could do the same to Philly for sure.

It'd be awesome to have the final Eagles game be for the winner in the NFC East. Even better if the loser stays home again.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Speak for yourself. I'd much rather have that game meaningless.

Our recent track record facing the Eagles late in the season for either the division title (2006) or our playoff lives (last year) is not very good.

**** the Eagles. Gotta snap that string somehow. I love that we've got to go through the Giants and the Eagles and the Sk*ns again in order to make a run this year. Line 'em up, and let's see how good we really are.

I'd like nothing better than playing the Eagles again (in Dallas :)) for all the marbles.

Is it me or does Reid sounds like he has asthma during his press conferences. I thought he was going to pass out. He is such a fat...

Denver is playing Philly at 1pm. I see it hard for them. I hope the game getes moved to 4pm. It might give Denver a better shot.

Um, no thanks

going into last year's final game against them with about the same hopes only to be brutally shot down 44-6...

don't think I want to relive that horror again.

Talk about stress. It would be most stressful game of year. On one hand, the Boys could erase alot of bad memories. On the other hand, if we lost, I could not find the words....but I get ahead of myself. Giants are up.

Hopefully the Boys hit their bump in the road in Nov. with the lack of Offensive production and Dec. will be different from the last few years. It would be great if the last game is meaningless so guys can rest up for the Playoffs.

In addition to the Cowboys, I'll be rooting hard for the Falcons this Sunday. I'd like their chances a lot more if Ryan hadn't hurt his toe yesterday.

On one hand you have to give props to the Eagles - they dont die until they are dead. They win some must win games to get in or keep their playoff lives alive. BUT they then revert back to Beagles and finally die. EVERY YEAR - I like that part.

On the other hand, THE Dallas Cowboys have blown chunks when we needed that win, win and you are in, etc...

Here is to hoping that we have elevated our game. Elevated it to the point where we take out the lesser teams.

Lesser team #1 = Giants. They are the lesser team, no bones about it. We should be able to step on their necks. Will we?

Lesser team #2 = Eagles. They are all about getting up and playing at a high level against us. Especially McNabb. So many "near misses" when attacking McNabb. THAT has to stop.

Good/Great teams beat these teams. We, at the very least are "good".

If they couldn't defend the home turf and win the game to get into the playoffs, then they don't deserve to go to the playoffs. Just like last year. I would rather have to fight hard to get there in fact.

The schedule is what it is and not sure how easy the eagles have it, they have some issues of their own to deal with and their up coming games are no cake walk.

I would just as soon be playing good football and have the spot wrapped up before the final game. What you may call fighting hard to get in many others would call it struggleing in dec which is something this team really does not want to contend with.

The Eagles schedule is easier. Flat out. But if we finish our division games 3-2 should get us it. We control our own run, just go out and do it.

Unfortunately, the Eagles don't have the luxury of a great defense going late into the season. No matter what anyone tries to tell me, I know the Eagles defense with JJ and Dawkins. It was very difficult to get first downs and move the ball if you couldn't beat their tricky blitzing.

This season, all I've seen McDermott do is play the scared approach, blitzing when it's 3rd and 20 and coming off as a some kind of 3rd down genius. Half of a healthy Commanders team drove up and down the field on them when they were hot, and only ended up winning the game because Campbell doesn't take shots downfield and has Samuel jumping the most predictable routes ever. The only reason their defense looked as good as it did was because Trent Cole was the only one getting pressure. I didn't see any illustrious blitzes all day.

So what seperates them from the Cowboys? Probably not a whole lot. But the Eagles are a team that stalls if they aren't given a short field to work with. They're also a team that has struggled lately against teams like the Bears and Commanders.

As for their eventual match up with the Broncos, I will cheering the hardest. I have too much damn respect for Dawkins to not want to see him crush his old cheap punk *** team into smithereens.
