News: ESPN: Ex-(Cowboys)-QB Mark Sanchez arrested, faces three possible charges

Here are the updated sequence of events that I've heard to date. The running sprints part sounds weird though

  • Sanchez came back to his hotel, completely hammered and decided to run wind-sprints in the servcie alley behind the hotel.

  • A man who's regular evening job was to take the oil drums of grease from the hotel pulled his service box van up to his normal spot to collect the grease and it blocked the alley....as always.

  • Sanchez told the man he had to move his van so he could do his sprints.

  • The man said he had to do his job and could not move his van until he did it.

  • Sanchez tried to get in the van to move it and an argument escalated.

  • Sanchez punched him and he maced Sanchez. Sanchez pounded the man until his face was mashed potatoes and the man stabbed him to get him off of him.

Maybe it happened that way, maybe not. But I do feel that man had every right to have his van in that alleyway.
Pretty sure Sanchez was in the wrong from the start. Maybe the stabbing happened before the pounding?
No idea.
I suspect the knife showed up sooner than later.

That's the way I now understand it.

What I want to know is how did the truck driver get stabbed in the face? I've seen reports and images of a stab wound to the face.

A witness reported seeing the pair circling each other, and thinking they were friends, before realizing that they were filming each other on their cell phones.

At some point, Sanchez allegedly body-slammed the truck driver into a wall and then threw him to the ground, at which point the driver said he pepper-sprayed the 6-foot-2, 230-pound athlete.

When Sanchez continued approaching, the driver said he pulled out his knife and stabbed the former QB several times in the chest and torso.

Sanchez had everything going for him. His career is over. What a shame for all involved. As Herm Edwards always says.... Nothing good happens after midnight.

With a knife by Sanchez. They have it all on video which hasn’t been released as far as I know. It’s why he’s facing multiple felonies.

Good summary. That's what I gather too. Only thing I dont understand is the exercising while drunk? Maybe when I was 19, but 38?

Yeah, same here. Seemed really odd. I wonder if he needed to be sober in the morning or something.

Maybe Sanchez removed the knife from his chest first?

See, I've only heard of the truck driver stabbing Sanchez with the knife. And then Sanchez getting up immediately and running away.

Anyway you cut it, video evidence corroborates what the 69 year old mad said what happened.

When the police interview you (after having stab wounds on yourself in the hospital) and you're best defense is "I don't remember what happened", good lawyer is going to be expensive, and the bottom line is how much are you going to pay out.

If I'm the 69 year old man, I wouldn't care if Sanchez spends a day in jail or not, but what I would want is a payout so big, I wouldn't have to work for money another day in my life.

Being the guy is 69 and was driving a truck working 3rd shift, got to respect a man for doing the job that sucks to earn money.. Hope he gets paid big...

Needless to say, I'd be surprised if Sanchez has a job in front of TV anymore. Not certain how you can spin any of this story to make people feel sorry for Sanchez.

You didn’t see the driver in the hospital with a slashed face? You think he did that to himself or something?

I know that video exists because it’s what the prosecutors used to charge him, but I haven’t seen it. Can you post the link? All I’ve seen is him walking away after being stabbed but nothing on the actual attack.

Thanks ahead of time.

Maybe Sanchez pulled the knife from his chest and used it to fight back?
I’m sure Sanchez slashed him. How it happened, we don’t know yet. The driver didn’t slash himself purposely. LOL.

He could have fallen on the knife.

Either way, once you stab the other person in the chest, anything goes in a knife fight.

odd that the driver didnt get charged for it.

Guess you are allowed to stab.

He was not the aggressor. So when you have to defend yourself anything goes. Brass knuckles, pepper spray, stun gun, a knife, or gun talk.

"I'm your Huckleberry."

You would never know Sanchez had a wife and twins at home the way he's out enforcing his brand of vigilante justice.
