ESPN FPI has Vikings as heavy favorites

The Vikings' run defense appears to be statistically average. I think they rank 14th, and have given up 100 yards on the ground to a lot of average rushing teams. If we can take advantage of that, we have a great shot.

I agree with the poster above who is concerned about the noise, though. It's a tough place to play.

It's not.

In 2000, the Ravens allowed 2.7 yards per rush and 970 rushing yards on the season, or 61 per game.
This year, they allow 3.4 yards per rush and have allowed 824 yards so far, or 75 per game. (Take the Cowboys game out and it's still 3.3 ypa and 71 yards per game)

Thanks, brotha, it didn't seem right.

No disrespect intended towards Kramskoi

We should go run heavy until they prove they can stop it. I don't think they'll be able to stop the run any more than the Ravens were.

To avoid false starts, the Cowboys need to use that same hip-slap silent count that worked so great early in the season.

They don't even know what a short week is. Neither team is playing on a short week since they both played last Thursday.
I know what you mean..

I cringe every time it's repeated the defense has no interceptions or turnovers.

I distinctly remember Lee intercepting the 2 pt.Conversion by the Skins last week..

Then I hear they do not count it because its on a conversion play.

That's insane to me.

If you kick a conversion..it counts.

If you do not make it..it counts as a miss by the kicker.

He gets credited.

If the offense fails or is successful by run or pass..

It's credited.

But turnovers that stop it do not get credit.

Why?

To me Lee'a play is an interception and it should count.

Football Outsiders says they're better against the run this year than in 2000 -- and better than any other defense in the "DVOA era" (since 1989).

Minnesota isn't even playing that well and the Cowboys are smoking. Through Bradford in the mix. The Cowboy defense isn't that good...but its more than good enough to handle Bradford and the Cowboy offensive line will surprise the mighty Viking defense. This game may not be that competitive...especially if Elliott gets rolling early.

Is the Ravens run D really better than their '00 team?? Wow, that puts that win in extreme context.
I think we realize that's it's all relative.
That 2000 Ravens defense was on an entire different plane--another stratosphere--from what they are running out there this year.
I think many consider it a top 3-4 best defense in all of NFL history.

But we are playing in 2016, so that's what counts.

Wow. That is surprising.

Not saying it can't happen. But I will believe a defense can stop this run game over 4 quarters when I see it. I believe the NYG success had a lot to do with 2 rookies at QB/RB playing their 1st NFL games. I'll either be proven right or wrong next Sunday.
