IRVING, Texas -- Cornerback Morris Claiborne admitted he made a mistake. The Dallas Cowboys are ready to move on. That was head coach Jason Garrett’s message in his Wednesday morning news conference, less than a day after Claiborne hastily left the team’s training facility after being informed that he was being replaced by Orlando Scandrick in the starting lineup. Garrett said Claiborne will be disciplined “in house,” but the Cowboys plan for the struggling third-year cornerback to play Sunday night against the New Orleans Saints in a role to be determined.

Have Claiborne return kicks and of course keep Harris as the punt returner. Mo returned kicks in college and if he is not starting should be asked to contribute in special teams.

Yeah, Mo, BECAUSE YOU DON'T WANT TO ANGER JASON GARRETT, FEARED BY COWBOYS PLAYERS!!!!

Moved on? Jason Garrett should move on for being a milktoast.
That guy might be football smart but for once he need to kick someone's rear to make a point. I'd fine Mo, suspend him from one game and then announce publicly that unless there are injuries, Mo will be 2nd-string for the forseeable future. That is the least this milktoast of a coach could do.

Man he (Garrett) make me mad!

Coach’s job is not to publicly shame a player or try to embarrass a player. I'm sure many fans would have no problem doing so.

Coddle? I don't think so he has lost his job, he likely will be splitting time with Moore and if you have a guy playing in a backup role he should be able to help on special teams. I'm all for Garrett fining Claiborne and demoting Claiborne but a coach also has a job to get through to a player and try to get that player to play to his ability. All you want to do is ridicule and for a fan they can do that to players, now if it gets that point then release him because you will lose a lot of respect by players in that locker room by trying to embarrass one of their own

Mo is very capable of embarrassing hisself. Jimma and Tom would half set the record straight -- publicly -- and let the chips and salsa fall where they may.
When we get to the point that nfl coaches dont want to embarrass players who DELIBERATELY EMBARASS THEYSELVES that is when I, as a astute fan, bail out.
Camp Teen-Agers was in junior high. Mo is in the NFL and need to be reminded of his duties as a player and when he step out of line he needs to be publicly shamed because he already done that.

(damn I am good)

Publicly no they would not have they would deal with a player but felt no obligation to ridicule a player to the press. Mo has lost his starting job and Mo will get fined. Mo does need to be disciplined and understand this is the NFL but you are dead wrong if you think that involved public humiliation so some idiot fan can get his rocks off, then is no longer about players and team it is about giving wolves fresh meat as if they don't get enough of that already

Camp feely-touchy sensitive is that way. Follow the yellow brick road.
Now, back to the NFL.
This is not about embarrassing a player who tried and failed this is about a p***-poor player who walked away in a snit. Narcissistic, whiney and a drama queen Mo.
if coaches do not publicly address this, they half failed. Failed as administrators, coaches, people who want the rest of the players to stay away from this juvenile courase.
Garrett doesn't have the mindset to do this: He is content to let Mo get off with "he's a competitor" drivel.
Then another player does the same thing. Why? Because he can and he can get away with it.

Public shaming has its place when a player shame hisself, not just offhandedly shaming someone for the sake of being a jerk or being all Parcells and all. The coach, when he let this type of thing go on with no public consequences, half failed. You know it, I know it and Bob Dole know it.

So like I said, camp touchy-feely sensitive is that way. All other mens and players go the other way.

Typical response but not a reality and no HC does it, they will handle the matter in house not some public lynching to make fans feel good. Garrett responsibility is to the Organization, his staff and his players not the fans who are the only ones who get any benefit out of an act of public humiliation. If Claiborne becomes a problem within the locker room then he will be likely cut but even that a coach will not comment on details with the public.

We'll set up a trap door with Mo on the other side as bait, all the Saints WRs and TEs will stampede towards Mo like moths to a flame and then *poof* they'll disappear.

You still here?
I repeat: Camp Touchy-Feely Compassionate is thataway.
Garrett's style is more suited to corporate HR, not for the NFL where hard hits, trash talk and paychecks 10 times bigger than a teacher's are the norm.
The NFL is not junior high, it's where tough guys are paid to produce, to perform and, if not, out the door.
I never cared for Parcell, yet I admired his straightforward attitude about players who embarrass themselves and because of their selfishness, embarrass the team and the front office.
Jimma and Landry, too, would have not tolerated this, especially from a corner who half proved time and time again that he is lucky to half a job and a salary that provides luxury and comfort.
So, as you kneel in front of the altar of player PC, think about how this low-performing, well-compensated player did: walk away in a snit.
Then tell me it can be handled hush-hush. Tell it to the Marines. Better yet, tell it to an underpaid teacher or guy picking up your recyclables and who are happy to half jobs. But they at least retain there dignity.

Garrett said it would be handled in-house, and he has no obligation to explain what he means by that. I'm glad Mo manned up and went back and admitted his mistake. We need him against the 'aints.

Unfortunately, the "manning up" always come after the man do something selfish and stupid.

If you consider professionalism touchy feely then so be it. Garrett and most all coaches handle discipline in house not for public viewing. Garrett is not doing anything any other coach would not do. Coach has an issue with player he deal with the player not with the press. BP, Jimmy nor Landry ever aired dirty laundry yes they handled players, they would cut players, they would fine players but they never ripped players or got into discipline matters with the press. I don't know what fricken dream world you live in but it is not the reality

This is exactly what I expected.

In house means a wagging finger and don't to that again.

Garrett - a leader of men - until he has to actually lead, then he's just their BFF.
