I know if he did end up playing with another team, some fans would hate on him.

the chances of tony and Jason getting a ring are really slim they have won two playoff games in ten years never had a deep playoff run

If I was a merciful owner I would give Witten a shot at a Super Bowl with a major contender.

Unfortunate, but probably true. I could never hate Witten, even if he left to go to a division rival. Dude has given us like 12 or 13 awesome seasons, and been the ultimate off-the-field guy as well.

I dont agree with alot of what Romo says, but when he said J Witten may be the greatest Cowboys player of all time. I agreed.

Currently working out with D. Ware in Denver so anything is possible..
Me personally, don't see Witten scraping on another helmet other than Dallas. He will retire a Cowboy
I went to the playoff game against Detriot. My first Cowboys game in over a decade. The amount of people wearing 82 jerseys made me "notice it". Witten is a Dallas Cowboy forever.....no way he goes somewhere else. They wont let him.

Starting with the owner...I don't think many people GRASP that REALITY. And the owner does a masterful job of "hiding" that reality. Love both of them. Both great players. But I can't think of another position player he gets that much time with the same organization....without at least ONE deep playoff run. QBs, I get.....to a point. But after a while...if you are not part of the solution...you are part of the problem. And I am not BLAMING either for us not making a deep playoff run over the course of their careers...but when something is not working....at some point you have to try something else!

I never got the "I hate you now because you play for another team" thang. It doesn't bother me at all. I root for the Cowboys. If a player leaves, he leaves. I don't feel any hatred towards him if he plays for a rival. I still want to beat that team, and that's about as far as I'll go.

If the goal is to win a Super Bowl before retirement, our division rivals are not probably the place to choose to go.

I wouldn't hate him at all.

It would make me as sad, and sick, as when Emmitt played for the Cards.

There hasn't been a sadder moment for me, as a Cowboys fan, then watching Smith leave and play for another team.

I'd be even more sad if Witten ever wore another uniform.

You should unagree quickly lol. Emmitt Smith.

good point. but something about a TE making into the conversation of "greatest player of all time", says a lot about J Witten....

BUt yeah, E. Smith is the greatest. Dont think that can really be argued against....although if I had more time, I would try....

I think Staubach has a case as the greatest ever.....beating E. Smith. Just becuase of "timing"

I really, really think, blokes, that Witten is past his prime and his best interests are to remain here. You don't want the old goat to have to learn a new system with a new QB in new surroundings. He should grow gracefully here and be prepared to transition in Escobar or the other TE.
Same with Romo, but with all his money, instead of starting over with a new team, could buy an NFL team and lead it to mediocrity.

As to: A year from now the Cowboys could be like the Carolina Panthers and Arizona Cardinals . . . . LOL LOL
