IRVING, Texas -- Former Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan has done a remarkable job in New Orleans. The Saints, whose defense set an NFL record for most yards allowed last season, rank ninth in the league in total defense (333.1 yards per game) and fifth in scoring defense (18.3 points). New Orleans has shaved more than 100 yards and 10 points off those averages from last season. To hear Jerry Jones tell it, he could see this coming, which would seem to make his insistence on Jason Garrett getting rid of Ryan after the Cowboys’ 8-8 season last year a strange decision.
