On the 25th anniversary of buying the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones said one of his biggest regrets is not having won a Super Bowl withTony Romo as his quarterback, but places the blame on himself.

In a 30-minute Tuesday afternoon interview with KRLD-FM Dallas/Fort Worth, Jones also said there are some highly-priced contracts the team shouldn't have completed and believes the franchise would have won more titles if not for the current financial system in the NFL.
"We should have been knocking on the door and we haven't and I have no excuses, it starts here," Jones said. "But we have not. I know that to the extent that we have a healthy Romo, our best chance to get back to the Super Bowl is a healthy Romo."

The Cowboys have won just one playoff game with Romo as quarterback, 2009, and missed the postseason the last four seasons.

In the last three seasons, the Cowboys had a chance to reach the postseason by winning the NFC East in the regular season finale but lost each time.

Several years ago, Jones said he conferred with several former or current NFL personnel executives who advised from 2007 to 2010, the Cowboys had some of the best talent in the league. During that time, the Cowboys not only had Romo, but Pro Bowl players such as Terrell Owens, Flozell Adams, Jason Witten, Roy Williams, Marion Barber, DeMarcus Ware andMiles Austin.

Just look at the head coaches Jerry has hired since Romo became starter. That's the problem right there. Staubach had Landry and Aikman had Jimmy. Tony, Wade and Garrett.

So yes, it is Jerry's fault.

Jerry's like an addict that apologizes to his family for all the grief h'es caused and maybe the money he stole from family members to support his habit, but his family knows its just talk. The addict will continue along the same path in life.

The mirror on the wall just doesnt do much for accountability or change.

This might be the best of the best. He is.....annoying at times.

His desire to be the face of the franchise in so ego driven.
Not to mention that he's not putting a product on the field or in the coaching staff that wins consistently... those superbowls were almost two decades ago.

I hope he comes through (I have no choice).... But stop talking about it, and Be about it..... Put it on the field, not in the papers.

And for those who are gonna say, "Well they asked him a question" Stop putting yourself in the situation where you have to answer every dam question...

*rant over*

Lol at you fools who still get wrapped around the axle about Jerry talking.

He's talked for 25 fricken years and he's not about to stop. Get. Over. It. I promise your life will be better for it.

says the guy who has Sam Hurd's prison number and #teamjerry in his sig.
If you're going to disagree, fine... but the name calling, you can calm that down.

Ah you noticed. I was thinking of sending Sam Hurd some money.

Seriously though. I find is absolutely foolish that people get so upset. You know it's coming every off-season - Jerry Jones interviews. And every time these guys take the bait and get high blood pressure over it.

Just chill. Ignore it. Make fun of it and laugh about it (avatar, sig pic, etc). I promise you'll live a couple extra years from it.

almost 20 years of laughing gets tiresome.... and I'm sure jerry feels the same....running in circles make you tired.
like i said, actions speaks louder than media fodder.
