They were showing a local sheriff talking about what happened. He said there is little information (the description of the car is very generic).

What he DID say is that they think it was a potential carjacking.

I know a lot of people are speculating about actions on the part of Davis that may have caused it. I live in DC, & I have an acqaintance who was shot in the face in the middle of the day as she was unloading groceries from her car. It was a carjacking, & she had given up the car, but he shot her in the face anyway. It can happen to anyone. (I've also been shot at, by someone who got mad at me while driving because he couldn't cut in front of me.)

true, your past should not incriminate you, and he could be a total innocent bystander in this matter (and i hope it turns out that he was) but the only thing more rare than getting randomly shot at at 5am is getting randomly shot at twice in 3 years.

it's just natural to be skeptical about this story.

either way, i'm glad he's ok, and i hope we see him on the field in 2 weeks.

It always amazes me the risks and the violence that occurs on the roadway. I hope Killer is ok, and that they catch the scumbags that did this to him. It is time to start making people responsible for their actions. I lost a good friend this year in a car accident. So, slow down people on the roadway, and take some of that energy you are wasting on anger and road rage and use it to help someone, instead of hurting someone...

Peace...

Technically the chances of being randomly are constant, they wouldn't magically decrease just because you've been shot once before... so that doesn't really support your point

My only question is what was doing out at 5 AM? They had a saying out in West Texas, nothing good happens to you if you are out past 2 AM

i'm pretty sure most people understand my point just fine.

So if it was a "carjacking" then why in the world did they leave the car, eh?

Actually, if you are considering "random" events, the possibility of it happening twice in the same period of time is less likely than it only happening once. However, if a random event has already occurred once, the chances of the random event occurring a second time are the same, as you noted.

So phillycowboyslover's point was correct. I tend to agree with him on this issue, as well. My first thought when I heard the news on the radio was "I wonder if Parcells is going to kick him off the team again." We'll have to wait and see how it all turns out, but I think Davis has earned the skepticism.

he's just saying that he's been shot twice in 3 years, the 1st time for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, what BP warns his players about, so it should be natural for people to see this as Deja Vu, but not to say that we should assume that Killer was in another bad situation though

Well it's dangerous out here in the world today. You have to deal with different people everyday.

Im sure hoping for a speedy recovery for Keith Davis, he's a highly appreciated player by the fans on this Dallas Cowboys team, and I hope he gets well fast enough for training camp or as soon as possible.

pbthal, your post says it all. You dont see Greg Ellis out past 2AM do you? You also dont see Drew Bledsoe out past 2AM either. No matter what to do to change them, a scorpion will always go back to what it knows: STING.

Where is this atm story coming from??? Last I read he was coming back from a family vacation and while driving on the highway he was shot, it even says he managed to pull over so his passenger could drive and take him to the hospital.

First of all, as far as I know only KD himself said he was coming back from a family vacation.

Secondly, if he was coming back from a family vacation, where the hell was his family?

Third, I'm sorry but this was not an attempted car jacking. A car jacker would of waited till he got off the freeway and STOPPED the car, not shoot at him while driving 55+ on the freeway. And like PacoReloaded said, if it was a car jacking attempt, why didn't they complete the car jacking attempt? Did they change their mind after shooting at the car thinking, "Car theft is a felony. Hmmm... I better not"?

The most likely scenario is he was out partying (like most PEOPLE his age tend to do. I sure as hell did). He somehow pissed the wrong guy off (could of been through no fault of his own) and the guy followed him and shot at him. Simple as that.

He wasn't going to work out (please sthu with that).

He wasn't going to church.

He wasn't coming back from vacation (unless he forgot his family back in cancun or something).

Why? Does everyone learn lessons the first time around?

Why would KD be any different? He is human afterall.

i know if i play with fire and get burnt that i won't play with it again...if i get a speeding ticket i know that i wont speed again...if someone gets busted for drugs they shouldn't do it again (please excuse ricky williams his a nut case) and if he lost his job for being in the wrong place and getting hurt, what makes any one think he would go back and risk losing his job a second and maybe final time?

Well... he was out at 5 am on a saturday night and got shot... again.

What world do you live in? Just wondering, I'd like to move there one day. A place where people only make one mistake once in their lives, then never again.

You act like this would be an odd occurance... someone making the same (or similiar) mistake twice. It happens all the time.

He doesn't have any family to bring home with him, you know. He's not married, and he doesn't have kids. And he had a friend in his car with him.

Here's Keith's version of what happened (from JJT's story) --

------------------------------------------------------------

At the time of the shooting, Mr. Davis said, he was returning home from Shreveport, La., where he had spent the weekend with friends and family.

"I wasn't going to go home, but I had missed church the previous Sunday," said Mr. Davis, "and we've got training camp coming up, and I didn't want to miss another Sunday. We were going to get home in time to change clothes and head to church."
