ARLINGTON, Texas -- Patrick Crayton caught Tony Romo's last two improvisational touchdown passes. That isn't a coincidence.

Romo has worked with Crayton more than any other wide receiver, so a trust has formed between the two. But Romo is looking for flashes of the right color, not a certain number, when he's running from pass rushers.

Romo says Crayton simply has knack for getting to the right spot when a play breaks down. It happened on Romo's highlight-reel scramble and throw for a score against the Atlanta Falcons. And it happened again Sunday afternoon, when Romo spun away from a defensive end who had a clean shot at his blind side and hit Crayton across the middle for a 10-yard touchdown to beat the Washington Commanders.

"What ends up happening is you’ve got that feel," Romo said. "Some basketball players may not be the most athletic guy in the world but he somehow just gets his body in position and knows where to be and knows angles and things of that nature.

"Patrick has that sense. He has that innate nature to find the opening, find the hole and put himself in position to be there. That’s a great quality that he has."

Newman won't discuss confrontation

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Cornerback Terence Newman had no interest in discussing his sideline confrontation with secondary coach Dave Campo.

"Nothing here, fellas," Newman said as reporters approached his locker.

Campo hollered at Newman after he came off the field for a Washington punt in the first quarter. Heated words were exchanged, and other Cowboys stepped in to separate the two. Newman gave up a 26-yard reception to Devin Thomas on third-and-long earlier in the series, getting caught peeking in the backfield when quarterback Jason Campbell started scrambling.

Campo was not available for comment after the game. He certainly won't be getting reprimanded by his boss for the emotional outburst.

"I loved it," owner/general manager Jerry Jones said. "We were pumping our fists, pounding it. I love Dave. I love the energy and excitement."

Not sure that Newman shares the love.

my feelings are still the same now as when i first saw it during the game....who cares? big deal....the whole defense was obviously frustrated and things were boiling over. should it have happened, i guess not, but there was nothing there that deserves any consequence in my opinion.

so again.....who cares?

Stuff like this happens on every team every sunday. The fox cameras just happened to notice it this time. That is all, period.

Why would Newman comment? He was wrong anyway...

Newman needs to be fined heftily for putting his hand on a coach. If it was college I would say he deerves a one game suspension or more, but this is the NFL so just take some money out of his wallet. Although Oakland would be a good game to sit him for.

or trying to keep something that could potentially blow up to full-scale ESPN-level, in-house

+1. The maximum penalty allowed. Gotta send a message that coaches are to be respected.

:hammer: Exactly...there is no need to overreact to a typical argument between player and coach. It happens every week.

Yep. Shoving Campo was really, really stupid. Not saying anything to the media after the game was likely very, very smart.

I still keep waiting for one of you to put up proof that this happens every week. I've been watching football for 30 years, and I have never seen a player shove a coach before today.

Have y'all forgotten when bill Parcells punched Todd Haley on the sidelines? This kind of thing happens. Though I agree something should be done as far as a fine goes with T-New. You simply cannot touch a coach like that.

Great. Good to know. Please post videos of other players shoving their coaches. Preferably -- for your argument -- ones that were not later punished.

Didn't Deangelo Hall and Mike Smith get into a shoving match two weeks ago?

It wasn't anywhere near a shoving match, if memory serves. They were in the middle of a sideline scrum and Smith stood his ground but I don't think they actually shoved each other.

And it's not really germane to the issue at hand.
