The Dallas Cowboys’ 7-6 victory over the Washington Commanders ranks among the ugliest wins in franchise history.

But be careful about negative knee-jerking after such a game. There was plenty of that around these parts when the Cowboys needed overtime to beat the Kansas City Chiefs. All that game did was spark a four-game winning streak.

Players have cited the comeback in Kansas City as the time this team truly came together. The game-winning drive against the Commanders, which came after three and a half quarters of offensive futility, had the same kind of feel.

“I was proud of the guys for continuing to fight and not giving up and believing throughout the game that we were going to win the game,” Tony Romo said. “You don’t win these type of football games without that kind of belief in each other.”

Romo and many other offensive players readily acknowledge that they need to play better to be a legitimate contender. But linebacker Bradie James sees the Cowboys’ ability to win ugly as a sign of progress.

“We’ve been sexy, been trying to be glamorous and teams have come in and beat us ugly,” James said. “I remember last year, we go to Pittsburgh and they won in the last drive. Baltimore won in the last drive. All these teams beat us ugly. They stayed the course and stayed consistent. Now, it’s our turn.”

This won't play well with the natives, lol.

True that. I already put the women and children to bed for that remark.

Anyone know where the emergency exit is?

I love repeating myself.....

A win is a win!

Only the Colts or Ain'ts can have an ugly win. Here in Big D, we have to be more stylish.

Ain't that the truth. I'm used to the double standard though.

I love it. Our win was so ugly that it caused Rich Eisen to say that the NFC superbowl representative won't come from the NFC East, lol. Mike almost had a fit, lol.

The truth is, we showed a lot of grit yesterday. In the past, put in that same situation, we would have lost more times then won. Oh well, some would rather lose in a stylish game instead of winning a clunker. I will take the win however I can get it.

Ugly win is still a win but it also is an indicator that you have a lot of work to do. I don't see this team falling in love with their record or currently being in 1st place. Maybe that is a good thing. During the 4 game win streak this team was doing a lot of good thing in all phases of the game over the last 2 the offense has struggled and Dallas has been making too many mistakes. There is time to clean it up and make a big run on the season.

I agree.

However, it is a lot easier to correct in victory instead of a moral victory and stinging defeat.

True.

Not going to lie, I'm pretty disappointed in that performance...but I can see some positives...I don't think we would have won that game last year. I'm constantly *****ing about Wade letting off opponents throats when we have a lead. When we got the ball with that much time left I was certain we'd let them march down the field easily and score a winning FG. Twice now, this year, I've been wrong about that. It's a good feeling to know we've got some "clutchness".
