Is Emmitt writing a book or something? He's one of my fav all time cowboys, but geez, i wish he'd take a back seat like some of the former greats, Dorsett, Staubach, etc. I guess he's trying to keep up with Troy and Michael.

Emmitt has always been a ME guy, similar to TO. He just never showed it. I grew tired of Emmit's act a long time ago. Once a Cowboy, now a media *****.

Dude should stick to dancing.

I'll never hold him in the same light as other fans. He's just unappreciative and if he's not the center of attention, then, well, you're trash.

Take a hike, Emmitt.

This is gonna sound stupid but what does that mean? I heard Jim Rome say it a couple times.

He's a propagandist, working for the media story and nothing else. That's what I gather. Emmitt Smith said it, so the Negative Nancys must be correct.

How many of us have been watching a game and wanted to reach through the television, grab Flo by the face mask and scream at him to PAY ATTENTION to the snap count.

I'm not debating whether it's right or wrong, whether it helps or not, we've all wanted to do it and nowadays...Emmitt's watching right along with us. He's a fan who wants his team to win, he just has a pulpit to speak his mind and we don't...except here.

I've got nothing wrong with it.

Really don't think it's about Flozell paying attention to the snap count.. he is partially deaf in his right ear.

Of course, that's never mentioned on any broadcasts of the game.

This coming from a guy who said that he was a "Diamond surrounded by TRASH" in Dallas after he signed with the Cardinals, then got taken out by Roy Williams in his ONLY game against the Cowboys as they marched their way to the PLAYOFFS. Emmitt needs to pipe down & work on his lack of skills on how to PRONOUNCE words when working for ESPN, instead of worrying about a team that cut him loose because he was over the hill.

Wow, doesn't take long for 'fans' to bash the last great Cowboy player to win in big D, does it?

Last I checked, there was a whole lot of trash back then too.

Frankly, I don't get it. So much doubt even before our first game.

Barring injuries, we will do well this season. WE WILL WIN AT LEAST 10 GAMES! Look at how good our OL is. We're healthy. Our RB's are pretty good. We may not have the best WR's but we're OK. Our D is much improved.

I don't get it. The Eagles are worse off. Their OL is worse. Their D is worse.
Big deal, they got Vick. The Giants lost their RB's and their top WR Burress.
The Giants' D is still pretty good but we're just as good and our O is better.
The Skins are in trouble O and D.

We play the AFC West. How do we not win 3 out of 4 here?

Emmitt, take a pill.

And what he is talking about, IMHO, is leadership...A claim I've been making for a couple of years now.

There isn't a player on the team I see, right now, that you know when the game is on the line can get the other players to focus and refuse to lose...Tony has been far too 'Gomer Pyle' in that respect and you gotta give Emmitt credit for calling it out

Nonsense.

I still love me some Emmitt Smith. I don't agree with everything he says but given the dues he and the other members of the 90's team paid he has a right to speak his mind.

it's incredible how people are going after Emmitt who's done so much for the Cowboys and defending Roy who's done nothing so far. If you don't agree with his opinion that's one thing but don't bash him. Roy could only hope he can make a quarter of the impact that Emmitt made.

Everyone has a right to speak their mind. Emmitt just thinks he has more rights, which is wrong.

Emmitt has become truly pathetic.

Mosely doesn't get it, probably because he's never played football or any organized sport at a somewhat high level for that matter. It's not just about hollering at O-Linemen for the sake of yelling at them. It's about recognizing a problem, addressing the issue, letting it be known that the problem won't be tolerated much longer, and making the proper adjustment to eradicate the problem. That's what leaders do. That's what Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger do. These guys generally love the O-Line and the rest of their teammates, but when there's a problem they recognize, address, and adjust. Usually the best way to adjust is to have the player step up their play...that's why QB's that are great leaders will occasionally yell at their O-Line if it calls for it.

I disagree he has a right to state his view I don't think that means he thinks he has more rights. I don't agree with him but that is his opinion and given what he has done for this team I still hold him in high regard

The only way the Cowboys go 7-9 is if we have a ton of injuries and those would have to be injuries to key people.

Even if we had a major crisis in leadership (similar to what we had last year), we should be over .500.

The days of 7-9 are over with this current crop of talent. Now all we have to do is win late in the Season.

Lots of fans I know no longer trust Tony Romo and I can understand why that is going by the last 2 years. Even though Emmit is not qualified to be an NFL Analyst on TV, he is right on the money with this prediction. No way am I getting my hopes up high for this team anymore until I see some consistency

The problem is the Cowboys haven't been sub .500 since 2004 and Vinny was our quarterback.

Emmitt Smith's prediction doesn't make any sense.

Anyone want to pull up the starters from that squad and compare?

Emmitt was a good running back. That's all he is. I don't need to listen to him run off at his mouth after he is done doing what he did for the team. If he was a true Cowboy, he'd stop criticizing his old team and show some respect for the young players who are in the same position he was once in.

To me, it's not about Emmitt the player. It's about Emmitt the character. He doesn't show me much from the latter.

I think, the logic behind the sub 500 prediction is tied to the 9-7 record from last season...Are we better or worse than last season?...There are arguments to be made for both cases, IMHO...So, to go from 9-7 to 7-9 isn't exactly a monumentally negative take

Actually it kind of is.

2 Games in the NFL is pretty big (heck one game is big) and in some seasons, 9-7 could get you in the Playoffs.

There just any evidence to support the Dallas Cowboys will only win 7 Games.

This is coming from a guy with absolutely no faith in Wade Phillips, but 7-9 is something even Wade Phillips can achieve.

Agreed. Shut the hell up about Emmitt Smith, he's the greatest RB of all time and a Cowboy great. Roy Williams' Wall O' Accolades looks mighty bare when compared to the skins that Emmitt, Irvin, and Troy have on the wall so perhaps he should be the one to shut his face.
