Team needs: Wide receiver, safety, outside linebacker, offensive tackle.

Ohio State receiver Brian Robiskie could be available to the Cowboys at No. 51.

Dream scenario: In Jerry Jones' dream scenario, he might be able to slide up from No. 51 to No. 35 and land a top-flight wide receiver such as North Carolina's Hakeem Nicks or Rutgers' Kenny Britt. I have a suspicion, though, that Ohio State's Brian Robiskie might still be there at No. 51. The only reason to go to No. 35 is if you simply fall in love with a player. The Cowboys have the ammunition to get it done, but it's more likely they move down a couple of slots. The name I keep hearing at No. 51 is Western Michigan safety Louis Delmas. Though I haven't seen a lot of film on the player, the Cowboys think he could immediately challenge Gerald Sensabaugh for the starting spot opposite Ken Hamlin.

Plan B: It wouldn't shock me one bit to see the Cowboys take an offensive lineman in the second round. There's a misconception that the Cowboys will feel pressured to take a safety or wide receiver with that No. 51 spot. I don't feel like Jones feels that pressure. For instance, the Cowboys could take a guard if someone starts slipping. I also think the team could use another pass rusher. DeMarcus Ware is a phenomenal talent, but right now he's lining up opposite a player (former first-round pick Anthony Spencer) whose career hasn't really taken off yet. Look for Jones to go after a receiver in the third round. It looks like you'll be able to get some pretty good value in the third on one of those receivers. That's what I'd do, but up to this point, Jones has not sought my opinion.

Scouts Inc. take: "Although Dallas does not have a first-round pick, do not be surprised if it is active in trying to move up into the first round. Two of the strengths of this team going into last season were expected to be the secondary and receiver positions. After trading cornerback Anthony Henry and waving wide receiver Terrell Owens those positions now have holes to fill.

"If Dallas sits tight and does not move up, WR and CB will still be on Dallas' mind, but safety will still potentially be a play as there could be a lot of value at No. 51. Two players to keep an eye on would be Patrick Chung from Oregon or William Moore from Missouri." -- Jeremy Green, Scouts Inc.

Who has final say? That would be Jerry Jones, although scouting director Tom Ciscowski does a really nice job and will have plenty of input.

Previous On the Clock: Carolina Panthers. The team-by-team series.

There should be good value at Safety at 51, either Delmas or Chung.

Also, there should be good value with the interior of the OL, guys like D Robinson or E Wood could be there.

The wild card, IMO, would be someone like J Gilbert at DE, though I think he ends up going before 51, or Sidbury. I know the Cowboys like Sidbury, but I thought more as a 3rd rounder, but maybe they want him in the 2nd.

...not sure how Mosely can work the NFC East and not think the Cowboys have a big need at ILB. Our interior (LB, S) defense has been a weakness for some time now.

There are no ILBs for Dallas to take at that high and I kind of think that's what he's basing it on.

I'm a big fan of Miles Austin, but as the draft gets closer I keep gravitating towards Brian Robiskie.

i keep going to duke robinson, that is one big huge offensive linemen, and another thing to think about;

if duke robinson falls like some say he will, then he will be ticked off, and want to make all the other teams that passed on him pay

i also like wood too

If we could get Brian and one of the top safeties I'd be so thrilled by this draft I'd hardly be able to stand it.

please trade up to take Nicks or Robiskie

I've read that Nicks put on 15lbs. in the short period of time between the combines and his pro day, where he refused to run the 40 again. That to me is a bit of a red flag.

If we take Chung I would literaaly cry!

Hes been hurt and thats why he added the weight.

I think he recently got it off when he was able to exercise again.

I wouldn't trade up more than a couple of spots maybe in the mid 40's, but I'm starting to like the idea of getting Robiskie more and more.

He doesn't have the blazing speed, but it's enough to get deep, and speed is something u can work on. U can shave a couple of tenths off your 40, just by getting in a NFL workout program, IMO. Robiskie has nice hands, and catches with his hands which is key. He runs great routes. Is good after the catch, and I believe he was a punt returner.

I really think that with a year or two, he'll be a #1 WR. He just has all the little things down and that's always the hardest thing for a WR to get.

I never understood the logic behind trading away Henry (at least serviceable starting CB) for Kitna (hopefully will never see the field).

I would rather have kept Henry if nothing for DEPTH. You can never have too many CBs in this leagues esp. with Newman's fragile health. Couldn't we have signs Leftwitch or Garcia or Grossman as a back up and draft a 3rd QB???

Why trade away a starting CB (I agree, he's fading) for a backup QB??

Now we really need to pick up more secondary during the draft for depth. Rookie CB make me nervous (not everyone is like Scandrick).

If we grab Robiskie at 51, that'd be a tremendous way to start the draft.

If we trade up we better be getting someone like Percy Harvin. What I heard is that he has incredible "suddeness" and speed. That's what we need to team up with RW and F Jones. He will improve our overall OFFENSIVE SPEED and create explosive plays.

Plus Todd McShay just tried to carry him hard on SportsCenter, now I really want him. McShay is a bum at talent evaluation, I really hope ESPN doesn't expect him to take Kiper's spot.

And I'm not a big Kiper fan

Yeah, tweaked hammy or something like that, right?

I can understand why this would factor in him not wanting to run during his pro day, but for a speed position guy allowing himself to gain 15lbs. in a short period of time scares me a little.

It's not a huge red flag and I'd be ok w/ us taking him with our 2nd rd pick, but I wouldn't trade up for him.

We're going to trade up at some point.

We're not drafting 11 players. No way no how.

I really like Robiskie. I don't know about his character but he seems like a tough guy who can attack the ball and has the ability to make plays downfield as well.

I haven't seen him play that much and when I did watch N. Carolina Brandon Tate was the guy who caught my attention.

If he is as good as everyone says he is then he is worth trading up for.

Robiskie may end up being a steal in this draft. He seems to have less question marks than a lot of other guys.

Brooks Foster (also from UNC) is an intriguing prospect from a size/speed standpoint also (6' 212lb 4.45).

If we choose to go WR later in day 2, he may be someone worth developing for 2 years down the road.
