Your comparing the mail-it-in-in-December Dallas Cowboys to the Eagles. Don't expect the Eagles to adopt a loser's attitude if they are eliminated. In fact, I would expect Reid to pull out all the stops to ruin the Cowboy's season with the pressure of making the playoffs gone. Expect onside kicks, fake punts, going for it on 4th in the red zone rather than kicking the FG, etc. Also expect our coaching staff to be completely unprepared for that......
Could not agree more; especially the part about the onside kick. I think they will be looking to pull off a few of those runs as the Ravens did at the end of the game Saturday, and we'd better be looking out for a fake FG as well...

true, but remember our lack of intensity in the last game of 2005 when we were eliminated earlier in the day
You're forgetting why we were eliminated earlier in the day... because a horrible 6-9 Eagles squad without McNabb ALMOST pulled off the upset over the wildcard Commanders, but came up JUST short.

Philly won't mail it in, I can promise you that. They were 5-8 last year before playing their best ball of the season and winning 3 meaningless games to close out 2007.

With Sunday POSSIBLY being Brian Dawkins' AND McNabb's last games as Eagles... I expect nothing less than 100% from that team.

We will need to bring our A-game to win this one... and we seriously need to cut out the stupid mistakes and penalties that seem to plague us weekly.

Matt Mosley is a ******....how can these guys actually get PAID for this? McNabb will be jumping for joy KNOWING HE CANNOT COST the Eagles a chance at the playoffs. They will be more than ready to play the game of their lives and spoil our season. I remeber a few years ago we needed the Eagles to beat the Commanders in the season finale. We would then have to beat the Rams later on that evening to get in. Well Reid pulled his backup QB I think at halftime with the game still in the balance. AJ Feely lost to the Commanders that day and we lost to the Rams that night. My point is...I can promise you with the Eagles eliminated...McNabb will STILL play the whole game.

Going back to the 80s through today, the Cowboys have played poorly without 'motivation' at the end of the year. 1987 was the only time I can recall when non-playoff Dallas beat a contender in the last game.

That 2005 game was a prime example.

Against the Rams..not exactly a hated rival who also had nothing to play for.
I think the Eagles being eliminated is a bad thing for us. They can play easy and not care. 4 and 2..."go for it". Trick plays galore.

I'd honestly rather play the Eagles with everything on the line and may the best team win.

Whether or not the Eagles playoff chances are gone or not, the fact they could ruin Dallas seaon is motivation enough for Philly to play as hard as they can in an effort to beat Dallas.
This is a divisional game and it is against Philly in Philly. That alone will make this a rough game for Dallas to win no matter what may happen early on Sunday:)

No, I think the disappointment of being out of the playoffs will be huge. On the other hand, imagine how fired up they will be if the Raiders win.

Look at the tape again. They didn't come up JUST short. The Eagles were winning that game, and pulled the starters in the 4th quarter. Reid was kinda joking about it on the sideline that day, and had a smile on his fat face because he knew that he was killing the Cowboys chances at a playoff berth.

I'm telling you, they would rather ruin our season instead of winning a Super Bowl. That's how pathetic the Eagles are.

Philly will be there to play regardless of rather they can get in or not. They might be slightly down, at the outset, because of their playoffs being out the window which might allow us to jump on them early, which would be nice, but Dallas is going to earn their way into the playoffs by beating a very game Philly squad.

No, not exactly. Some of you don't understand the psychology of football at all. Remember the last time this happened to us? We were eliminated just before the start of the game and we played one of the most inept, dispirited football games ever.

Yeah, it's against the Cowboys. Whoopee. Guys, they'll have just seen their playoff chances go up in smoke and you actually think they'll play a hard, focused game?

Give me a break. No, the thing you have to be VERY concerned about is the Raiders winning. The Raiders haven't had much to play for a quite a while, so they don't have to overcome any kind of shock about not making the playoffs. They will be focused, they will be ready, they will want to win their final game. On the other hand, the Bucs have to be reeling -- they just saw their chance to make the playoffs get dashed by their own inept performance against San Diego. Why in the HECK does anyone think they are going to play hard?

You folks really need to think things through. The ONLY reason the Bucs might find a way to get fired up for this game (at least on defense) is because they're losing their beloved defensive coordinator after the season and will want to send him out on a good note (especially after their pitiful displays the last couple of weeks).

But that's a reach. Anyone who thinks the Raiders winning this game should be viewed as an upset just doesn't know what the heck they're talking about. I FULLY expect the Raiders to win that game.

It would be disappointing to them no doubt.
Still, beating Dallas would help relieve some of their sadness because then they could say, "At least we took Dallas down with us."

I think that is a whole lot more "relief" for the fans than it is for the players.

Why do you call someone out for grammar when you don't properly capitalize?

The Bucs are still alive for the playoffs aren't they?

Yeah, by a incredibly thin thread. And trust me, as much as you hear from coaches about only being able to control your own game and the rest will take care of itself, that's pure nonsense. The Bucs are going to be DOWN for this game.

The Bucs know that there only reasonable chance just got pissed away this past weekend. They blew it and believe me, they know it.

This could be a dangerous scenario. If OUR team assumes that the Bucs will beat the Raiders and they will be facing a down Eagles team, and then the Raiders win, they'll instead be facing a VERY fired up Eagles team, one that is even more fired up than if the outcome of the Raiders/Bucs game was still an unknown, because they'll know that they control their own destiny.

Granted we have no room to talk. But did that look like a fired up Eagles team competing the playoffs last weekend?

They put up 3 points. That's it. I want them to come out fired up, and I want the Cowboys to put out that fire.

No, which was inexplicable. The Commanders defense is decent though (and they were playing at home), give them some credit. But as I said, IF Tampa Bay wins, I would expect to see a very lame Eagles team, who realizes they have no shot.

But I really believe Tampa Bay winning is in no way, shape or form a certainty.
