Tough day for the Cowboys' O-line

During a four-play span in team drills this morning, center Andre Gurode appeared to injure his left ankle and Flozell Adams clutched at his right knee. Both players sat out at least one play during the drills, according to Todd Archer's spellbinding practice report.
In other news, reserve Montrae Holland missed practice due to personal reasons. I'll stop by practice again next Wednesday before heading on my northeast tour. Look forward to seeing some of you on the road. You'll love the NFC Beast bus that I'm touring in. Can't wait to show you the flat screens. All my best.
Dallas Cowboys, Flozell Adams, Montrae Holland, Andre Gurode

The Cowboys focused mostly on special teams during their '09 draft, but it looks like a few players may be ready to contribute in other areas. Tim MacMahon of ***BANNED-URL*** has kept a close eye on Texas Tech product Brandon Williams and another linebacker named Victor Butler. As you might recall, I was very impressed with Butler's work during my three days in the Alamo City. Here's what linebackers coach Reggie Herring had to say about the two players:

"Victor Butler and Brandon Williams are what we consider doing things right now that give us hope that they have a chance to help us this year," Herring said. "They're showing some pass-rush skills -- things that are instinctive. They're explosive off the ball, quick get-off. Every day they're understanding the tempo and the speed of the game, learning how to use their fundamentals and their hands. They're showing some improvement every practice that gives you a feeling or hope that they will help us this year -- somehow, some way, at least special teams and definitely pass rush."
