Odell Beckham misses another practice as opener vs. Cowboys looms

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.remained sidelined at practice Thursday with the opener against the Dallas Cowboys just several days away.

The Giants play the Cowboys on Sunday night in Texas.

Beckham hasn't practiced since injuring his ankle on Aug. 21 against the Cleveland Browns. He warmed up with his teammates Thursday for the second straight day before going to the side with a trainer when the Giants began running individual drills.

The Pro Bowl receiver did some straight-line running -- which at times appeared to be near 100 percent -- but did not run routes or do any sharp cutting or change of direction. General manager Jerry Reese stopped to talk with his top playmaker on his way to practice.

Beckham's status for Sunday night's game remains unclear. He declared himself "day to day" when he spoke to the media on Wednesday afternoon even though he was feeling better.

It has now been 17 days since he suffered the injury.

Even if he plays, he won't be near 100%. The Giants have a lousy offensive line and no threat in the running game. Take Beckham off the field, and they're not going to score more than 10 points.

And the drama grows! Will he? Won't he? Stay tuned to Channel Odell to stay up to date with the herculean effort as this mild mannered humble WR perseveres to get back on the gridiron.

I hear the excuses already!! I've found that outside of iggle fans, giants fans have the most excuses lined up for when they lose

He's probably going to get frustrated if he can't play at 100%. The Cowboys need to get really physical with him and do a lot of trash talking. He'll probably start throwing punches and hopefully get kicked out of the game. Then Jerry needs to be very vocal in the media about his on field behavior and demand the league suspend him.

Whether he plays or not, they're still gonna force feed us his one-handed catch replays. I expect at least 5 minutes of contemplating what color to repaint the ceiling.

Wins are much sweeter when you beat a team at full strength.

True, but wins with injuries to the other team are also much sweeter than losses to a team at full strength.... the morale of the story is wins, no matter how you get them are sweet.

PS: this does not mean I think they would beat us at full strength. Zeke or no Zeke, OBJ or no OBJ....it doesn't matter. I think we win Sunday Night...period.

Guys, I'm checking the charter boat bookings for Sunday. Will let you know the verdict so you can stop with the uncertainty.
