IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant and running Joseph Randle exchanged heated words during Friday's practice at Valley Ranch. It got to the point where tight end Jason Witten told Randle to, well this is a family website, to shut up. The reason for the exchange surrounds Randle getting booked into jail two weeks ago by Frisco, Texas, police for shoplifting and saying a few things about teammates -- Josh Brent and Bryant. On a videotape released to Dallas-area television stations, Fox 4 and CBS 11, Randle asked about possibly getting suspended for his arrest on shoplifting charges and noted Brent, who did some time for intoxication manslaughter, was in the Cowboys' locker room.

I know the first tenet of journalism is the right to know, but Watkins could've kept this one to himself. I'm sure these things happen all the time in every locker room in the league. That being said, Randle has some growing up to do.

You're absolutely correct. It is the TMZation of football.

Newman getting in a scuffle with a much larger teammate sounds familiar but I did not remember it being Canty.

So when did Newman and Canty get into it? I don't recall anything back then.

I don't remember that one, but Newman was often getting into it with teammates. He often pointed fingers to other players on the field in games. I specifically remember him pointing out that 6-5 Safety that the Cowboys had who was only a 1st or 2nd year player at the time. Newman also got into an argument that involved shoving with Sensabaugh. Newman also got into a physical altercation on the sidelines with DB coach Dave Campo.

That (safety) was Pat Watkins, I believe.

Maybe Randle was getting to much grief for what he did from some teammates. Not that he should run his pie hole but we don't know what brought this on.

Yeah we do. His idiocy. Had he not thought he had a hook up; used his head, along with his money like a normal person without entitlement issues, none of this would have happened. Therefore, we'd all be talking about his fumble rather than his off the field discretion, and his mouth.

I say cut Randle before he becomes a locker room cancer. Williams can take his place as backup and somebody can hopefully step up in his special teams place.

Yes, that's him.

IMO, Newman was one of those guys that didn't get in off-field trouble and was reported to be a hard worker in the weight room, but he was still a non-RKG. A veteran pointing fingers at a young player or a player physically pushing a coach is just not good.

I definitely remember Canty getting into an argument with a CB. I can't remember who it was.. Newman sounds correct.
