James Hasty was interviewed on Sportscenter asking who he thought got snubbed.

He said he was a corner, and that interceptions were overrated, so he was gonna go with a corner.

And he decided it was.....AL HARRIS!!!???

He said, and i quote, "Al Harris has shut down every receiver that has played against the Packers."

hmm...uh....BULLCRAP!!

If there is any corner who should be in b/c interception numbers are overrated there is only one, and that is T-New.

Unreal the Cowboys bias.

The worst part about what he said was what he didnt say.

He should have said Hall should be left out instead he said Lito (which is arguable I guess) but Hall is the OBVIOUS.

I don't see how this proves or disproves a Cowboys bias.

There are other players in the league being similarly snubbed.

When it comes to TO, yes, there's a bias. But it's not Cowboys related. People downright hate the guy.

I would think Newman is pretty well known in NFL circles, if not amongst casual fans. But there were other head scratchers left out, too, from other teams.

umm how is INT overated when its a game changing play?? that guy is an idiot. CBs who get INTs are game changers, they are very valuable to the team.

Pro Bowl and BCS rating system have this in common,
Neither really makes any sense.

Anyone stupid enough to thing that a couple of INTs makes up for 6-8 TDs given up has no real knowledge of football.

Two years in a row we're all pretty sure Newman deserved it, but sadly we have to face the fact that he didn't.

We live in the age of ESPN.

Highlights rule all.

How else can people say Barry Sanders > #22?

Me, I like 3-4 a carry rather than -2, -3, 15, 0, -4, 60.

Maybe it's just me.

Newman doesn't make the flashy plays or runs his mouth so he stays home.

Though I'd rarely he stays the same guy.

If you give up 3 TDs to every int I would say INTs are overrated.

umm, it is overrated because some of the people who vote dont pay close enough attention and for them they simply go to the stats, shurg their shoulders and pick the 3 CB's with the most int's and nothing more.

I was hoping in this day and age with the NFL package on satellite where you can see the "shortcuts", all games in 30 minutes or less, all day Monday and Tuesday, that most of these writers and tv personailites would be seeing alot more action. Maybe they are but the pro bowl voting doesnt bear this out yet.

Hasty only pointed out Harris he did not say Newman did not belong. Now if he was ragging on Newman I would agree but because he named Harris does not mean he is being bias aginst Newman. It is ESPN not the Dallas Cowboys Network

Hasty also said Romo didn't deserve to go since he hasn't started the whole year. Blah, blah, blah.

Yeah and he was real adamant about Romo being there and that he shouldnt be there because 8 games and that he didnt go through whole season and all of preseason and TC and on and on.... his hate started shining through... he is a ....er... witch :D

then Sean Salisbury start making like a dog and was up this guys butt(sniff-sniff. oh yeah thats good) and went along similar lines.... though giving Romo some props in between

Why is James Hasty's opinion anywhere?

Apparently all you have to do is play and you can be on ESPN

I agree and watched this segment on ESPN and did not come away with the feeling that Hasty or anyone else was dissing the Cowboys or the players. When Hasty was asked if he was suprised that Romo made the PB team Hasty said yes because of the few games he has played but also agreed that due to the lack of top QB's in the NFC at this time Romo was not a bad selection. While some take this as a diss there is a lot of truth to the statement as well. Overall ESPN has been very positive towards Romo

Face facts...until Newman learns to play the freakin' ball and make some INT's, he's unlikely to make the probowl, and he's certainly unlikely to be a perennial probowler.

We all love Newman because he's our best CB, but even those on this board constantly lament the fact that our DB's have never been good at finding and playing the ball.

Newman might be as good as anyone in the NFC when it comes to blanketing a guy, but if he wants to be a probowler he better start making some int's.

And he won't ever smell All-Pro with guys like Champ Bailey out there unless he learns to watch the QB and attack the passes...heck, the truly great ones, like Bailey, Deon, etc, read patterns and actually lay back and bait the QB into an INT by making him think it's safe to throw the ball.

Newman is great, but he's still got lots to learn if he wants to be a PLAYMAKER. Do you disagree with that take?
