The Cowboys lead the league in passes over 20+ yards and only the egals beat the Cowboys in passes over 40+ and that's by one play. (7/6)
That's a pretty big threat imo.

We have no game breakers on defense.

Demarcus Ware..ya..but he hasn't really been himself this year.

That's why i would trade multiple draft picks for Eric Berry.

We need a new DC and secondary coach though.
As good as DeMarcus is, he disappears wayyy too often to be considered a gamebreaker.

Ed Reed Ray lewis?

How many big plays has either of those guys made this yr?

Ray Lewis has been living off rep for years anyway.

DeMarcus Ware >>>>> either of them

the guy had 20 sacks and something like 7 or 8 forced fumbles last yr...when exactly did he disappear?

this yr the guys played all season with a stress fracture in his foot and now a bone fracture in his wrist...yet he goes 110% every play and never complains...I think he deserves better than "he disappears way to often". He never disappears, because opposing offensive coordinators totally game plan around this guy every week.

they are right....but we CHOSE to go into this season with this style of play because of what we THOUGHT is the best way to win December football games. We have just as many if not MORE game breakers than the Steelers. The Colts have the same amout of speed as the Cowboys do. The Saints have have ONE speed WR. THe Pats have ONE game breaker. My point is the best teams don't have a ROSTER full of gamebreakers. We are built to play solid defense....solid special teams...and control the clock on offense. When we get behind, our lack of game breakers is evident...but that goes for ANY team without game breakers. The Raiders have a track team...has that mattered.

Now whether or not we AGREE that should be the strartegy...I cannot say I blame the organiation, because the other way had failed too many times. Ogletree is the only WR on this team that can get open quick...he NEEDS to be used. But offense did not LOSE the game yesterday. Lazy defense and poor special teams lost the game.

i disagree.

it's hard to have "gamebreakers" when you're at 3rd & 18 regularly.

we have STUPID AND POORLY COACHED PLAYERS, many of whom would be GAMEBREAKERS if we had a real offensive coordinator and head coach.
Word... Any team wants to succeed at stopping Garrett, just play cover-2...

It was Cowherd who said this morning and for once, I actually agree with him. He went down our roster and said we have a lot of good but not great players, lots of B+ guys. He said we have a better overall roster than Arizona but Arizona beats us because they have more bigtime players.

I agree with what a lot of the posters are saying here, that we do make a lot of big plays. I have to admit I am jealous of teams that have guys like Larry Fitzgerald, Ray Lewis, Peyton Manning, etc. All of those guys have their off days but most of the time they make the much-needed or big plays. I would just love to know that when we need a play in a crucial game we know that a certain player is going to make it. Like the Aikman/Irvin/Emmitt days.

I think D Ware is as close as we got but teams are game-planning him and no one (coaches or players) is stepping up to make teams paying for it. Ratliff, Witten, Romo, and possibly Austin are all potential impact players but so far, I'm not ready to bet the house on them every week.

I think this draft has 3 or 4 players that will have an immediate impact in the league (Eric Berry, Ndamukong Suh, Dez Bryant, and Rolando McClain). If we can trade up (way up) and get one that would really improve this team. I'm not sure if there is a free agent out there who can fit the "A player" label but if there is, we have to consider him.

More than anything, I think that we have a roster full of talented players who seem to fold under pressure. It's much easier to replace the Head Coach than it is to replace 50 players. If we don't win a playoff game this year, Jerry must go out and get a coach who will DEMAND discipline and get the most out of this talent.

No one said the Cowboys didn't have gamebreakers after the Atlanta game...You know, the game that was a must-win - similar to the Giants yesterday. I have never felt more confident in the Cowboys than I do right now, after seeing that it took missed FG's and a punt return for TD to beat them.

Wow, your head is in the sand.

The Falcons are terrible, by the way.

I definetly agree with the op, we lack playmakers especially on defense. We have to many first round picks playing mediocre football. Im looking at you Spears, Spencer, Barbie and Terrence.

So Miles Austin isn't a game breaker? Felix Jones isn't a game breaker when given the ball? Come on man!

I don't consider Felix a game breaker the way he is running right now.

Yes the oline does suck, but he doesn't look right.

Wasn't it just a few weeks ago when we were criticized because too many of our touchdowns came on long plays and quick drives, and we were "too inconsistent" to put together time-consuming touchdown drives?

And now it's the opposite?

And Romo is tied for the most TD passes longer than 40 yards.

I think this is a bunch of BS. If your OL plays well, you can win with just above average guys. We certainly should have beaten a NY Giants team on Life Support with just above average guys.

What the hell do you call Miles Austin? Hes not a game breaker?

What about his back to back go-ahead touchdowns against KC?
What about his go-ahead touchdown against Philly?
Monster game against Atlanta that, at the time, was considered a big game.
Felix Jones is no slouch either... Once healthy I think he'll be in this category again.
Ware, when healthy, is a game breaker.

Sorry, this thread is trash.
