A few thoughts on the Seahawks' impending matchup against DeMarcus Ware and the Cowboys in Week 8:
  • The Cowboys were not consistently impressive during their 37-21 victory over the Falcons. Atlanta dominated the game early. The Cowboys led by three points deep into the third quarter.
  • The Cowboys move Ware, their top pass-rusher, from side to side. By my count, Ware played on the defensive right side for 58 percent of snaps against the Falcons in Week 7. He dropped into coverage six times.
  • Ware finished the Atlanta game with two sacks, but he was not consistently dominant. One sack came on a third-and-34 play. The Falcons did not consistently double-team Ware. Ware's best play, I thought, came when he defeated three separate blocks. Midway through the third quarter, Ware lifted left tackle Sam Baker off the ground and planted Baker on his back. Ware then discarded fullback Jason Snelling before pushing down receiver Brian Finneran.
  • The Cowboys hit hard on both sides of the ball. The Falcons matched Dallas in that area early in the game, but not throughout. The Cowboys forced three fumbles.
  • Ware is playing with a stress fracture in his foot. He played just about every snap until the final minutes, when the game was decided. He did come out of the game for two plays after defeating Baker, Snelling and Finneran on the aforementioned rush.
  • Seattle will likely have problems with Ware and the Cowboys' defensive line in general. However, Ware was playing at a higher level last season, when he had 20 sacks.
NFC West chat begins at 1 p.m. ET. See you there.

I guess "early" is kind of ambiguous but I don't think having one good drive to start the game is any sort of "domination".

Atlanta has a very good team. The other team just doesn't lie down for you.

I question that Sando even watched the game.

I was thinking that too. It also sounds like he feels that being dominant on every play is the norm for great players. Most players aren't dominant at ALL.

If Ware or anybody dominated on every play, there would be rule changes.

Great players are great because they are consistently very good and have the ability to dominate at times.

That fully describes Demarcus Ware and the performance of the defense last Sunday.

Writers need to find more creative ways to hate. I'm getting bored with this stuff...

Aside from the great first drive, we totally owned that game, what was he watching, if anything?

Maybe early meant before the game started? That's early. They sure dominated ... :p:

This year thru six games ware has 24 tackles, 4 sacks, and 2 FF. Last year thru six games ware had 32 tackles, 6 sacks, and 1 FF. So statistically speaking when you compare last year to this year ware did play at a higher level last year thru the first six games. I don't know if he was dealing with injuries at the start of last year, but having a stress fracture in his foot this year has probably slowed him down a bit.

Plus a concussion on the very first pass play of the season and an injured neck. When he's 100% he's getting to the QB and he's bringing hell with him!

I just love reading this type of horse****because of what it says to me.
"I'm a Cowboy hater. They're obviously better that I hoped they'd be. So I will begrudgingly give them credit where credit is due.

Well, a lot of those guys are busy dealing with sexual harrassement charges so they don't really have the time to put into the research for their columns that they should. lol.
