BLOGGING THE BOYS

As fans of the Dallas Cowboys, we try to stay positive. When projecting for the 2016 season, many Cowboys fans are taking the view that this team is going to be more like the 2014 team, and less like the 2015 team. What happens, though, when the projections are looking forward; instead of using the past to predict the present, what happens when you use the present to predict the future?

That's what ESPN did in an annual exercise they like to call Future Power Rankings. While it may be a click-bait exercise in the dead period to drum up some interest, it's still fun to play along. Well, it would be fun if they didn't hammer the Dallas Cowboys future prospects. What they do is rank each franchise's prospects for the next three years based on five factors - roster, quarterback, coaching, draft, and front office. To accomplish this they use three NFL "experts" in Louis Riddick, Field Yates and Mike Sando..

If Romo or Lee go down we're 8-8 best case. If both go down we're picking top three.

But anything is possible.

Predictions are worthless, just look at the preseason mags that come out in August that predict the division winners and SB winner and see how accurate they really are come January.

If somebody gets just 50% correct, they are considered geniuses.

As for the Cowboys, this coaching staff is about as clueless as they come when designing a game plan. That is why every QB except Romo loses every dam game, Romo is the only guy that can just play sandlot ball and call plays at the line. Ergo, if Romo gets hurt we will lose every single game, this has been proven.

If Romo doesn't get hurt, we should win 10 games easily, even with this crayon playbook and coach clapper doing everything possible to lose.

I also think that espn is right in some of the area of concerns. until the cowboys find a young qb to groom when romo quits we are in for another 4-12 5-11 seasons waiting to happen. also the defense lacks a franchise player on the defensive line. I see a few more 8-8 seasons in the future. no matter what I still hope for the best and maybe we get lucky again and have another 12-4 season before witten and romo call it quits.
