We have him for 4 years, year 3 is when they will look to redo him and he will get his pot of gold. Wilson of Seattle was pretty much in the same shoes I believe although he did win a SB.The more I learn about Dak's past and the kind of guy he is, as well as being an awesome QB, I feel guilty the Cowboys are paying him this measly 4th round rookie salary. This is one player who does deserve more than what he is earning. Hopefully Jerry puts something extra in his Christmas stocking to help him out.
I get tired of hearing about how many other teams, (the Browns), passed on Dak multiple times. WE passed on him multiple times, & failed twice to secure another QB other than Dak earlier in the draft. The Jones team got real lucky with this pick. Just glad that sometimes being lucky is better than being good. We have our backfield, hopefully, for the next 8-10 years. Now, let's draft some pass rushing studs on this team to help get more balance on this team. Then, we can start winning multiple Super Bowls again.
He also had the DUI right before the draft. I would have taken him off of my board, until I saw him at Gruden's QB Camp. He came across as a quality young man with quiet confidence. I came away quite impressed after that, so I thought at the time they took him that he might do well--some day...lol.Teams were scared because Dak didn't play behind center (played shotgun).
