Where is TitleTown USA?

This summer, "SportsCenter" will visit 20 towns that lay claim to the name of TitleTown USA.

You may nominate your championship city with a video or essay. We'll review the submissions and highlight the best ones. In May, a select nationwide panel to be determined by ESPN's "SportsCenter" will pick 19 of the finalists, including Green Bay, Wis.

The 20th finalist will be determined by online fan voting during the week of May 26. "SportsCenter" will announce the 20 finalists in June and will tour each during a 20-day span in July, culminating with online fan voting to determine which is truly TitleTown USA.

Yup. Some tiles are what they are. The flavor of the month club doesn't get to assign names whenever they want.

Regardless of whether it holds true every month of every year, Green Bay is Titletown and always will be.

if the celtics win the nba championship this year how could it be not right now? I still think it's New York though.

and they don't even play in Tampa. They play in St Pete in one of the most stale boring stadiums ever built.

Don't step to Tampa's legitimacy. You know it is taking the name from Green Bay. Green Bay's claim to the name is over - they no longer bear the standard that befits a Title Town.

Just like the Dallas Cowboys are "America's Team," Green Bay, Wisconsin is "Titletown." Why do people think nicknames ought to be transferable? I'll never get that.

As well it should.

The Bruins have won the Stanley Cup 5 times.
The Pats have won the SuperBowl 4 times.
The Celtics have won the NBA Chapionship 16 times and are working on a 17th.
The Red Sox have won the World Series 7 times.

Because they dominated the decade of the 60's and someone dubbed them that. In short, they earned it.
