IRVING -- Cowboys running back Marion Barber hasn't spoken to the media in two months.

Well we got him, after he was threatened with getting fined $25,000 by the league.

Here's the Q&A:

How important is the next few weeks for the Cowboys? "It's very important. We just got to make sure we stay on top and get ready for the game day-by-day."

Have things been tough on you to get going because of your health? "No, no, it's all about winning games at the end of the day."

How is your health? "I'm good."

Are you 100 percent? "I'm good. I'm good. I'm good to go."

How do you slow down the Saints offense? "We got to control the clock and execute and make sure at the end of the day, make plays."

Wade says the team isn't desperate, is that good? "As long as we stay on top of our game. We know we had a great week of practice and we just have to come out and be ready to play Saturday night. The skies the limit for us."

You had four plays inside the 5 last week. How tough was that not to punch it in? "It was tough because every play is important. This next week we got to make sure we execute on every play."

IRVING -- Wade Phillips said during his Thursday morning news briefing his team is not backing down from the New Orleans Saints, nor it should.

"Usually when people say you can't do something, people bow up and have a lot of pride," Phillips said before Thursday's practice. "I think it helps. I don't think our confidence is we can't do it and we got to do something else to be able to do it."

Phillips said he feels good about this team at its current stage, despite a two-game losing streak.

Phillips is still hopeful about outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware (neck) but figures it will be a game-time decision.

Nick Folk remains the field goal kicker and Phillips thinks the mini-competition with David Buehler helped.

"I think he's responded well in practice," Phillips said of Folk. "I think it's a positive thing." Phillips said Folk has been inconsistent in practices and in warmups before games. Yet, "he feels like he's hitting the ball well."

Saints safety Darren Sharper is tied for second in the league with eight interceptions and returned three for touchdowns. Phillips was asked is that more a result of teams just trying to get back in the game by throwing it or Sharper making plays.

"He's done that throughout his career," Phillips said. "He always had a lot of interceptions and he's run a lot of them back."

In his career, Sharper has returned 11 interceptions for touchdowns. Hall of Famer, Rod Woodson is the all-time leader witih 12.

The Cowboys didn't practice in pads all week.

I'm glad he spoke to the media. People like Mickey really dog him for ducking out of the locker room after games.

I know Barber's been a punching bag lately but his effort on those goal line runs was phenomenal. He needed some help upfront and as we tend to suspect, he might not be right, but he tries like hell.

Pretty non-committal answers from Barber.

We'll hear about this again.

Bookmark it. If we lose, this might be thrown out there as a reason why.

This game is going to be scary. Just from reading this. I hope im wrong, but I think that Cowboys is going to lose this game.

Why might you say things like that before the game?

(NICK FOLK Remains the kicker)
Nick Folk remains the field goal kicker and Phillips thinks the mini-competition with David Buehler helped.

"I think he's responded well in practice," Phillips said of Folk. "I think it's a positive thing." Phillips said Folk has been inconsistent in practices and in warmups before games. Yet, "he feels like he's hitting the ball well."

(Barber's Response To A Yes or No Answer)
Are you 100 percent? "I'm good. I'm good. I'm good to go."

What I get from this is that Marion is indicating he's good to play but he might not necessarily be saying that he is a 100% and the way he plays he still looks as if he is hurt. If he is a 100% he's playing with less aggression than he's usually playing with for whatever reason. I look at MB3 as if he don't want to disappoint Jerry Jones, so he result in going out there giving it his all and all while he's battling with injuries, but he don't want to complain because he's getting paid.

Need I say more.

We'll see what happen though. But I just don't want to be pissed when Saturday come so I prepare myself based off of the team interviews during the week. For example, when Tony Romo answer the superbowl question that ask by Michael Irvin, and the cowboys had to play giants and they lost. But Romo wasn't the blame for the lost, it was the team.

They will definitely hear about it if they get blown off the ball on both sides of the LOS. Fur shure.

..........hey bbgun: is "the skies the limit for us" as bad as " we won't COW down to them?" My god, the only thing worse than this team's uninspired play lately is their grammar....

Hey, I'm sure Barber said "The sky's the limit" - it's Watkins who wrote it up wrong.

I don't think he should be forced to talk to the media. While I believe fully in freedom of the press and freedom of speech and realize that the league is fully within their right to fine somebody for doing something like criticizing the refs, I do think you have the right to keep your mouth shut. Hell, it should be encouraged.

I agree. I don't think there should ever be a fine for a person wanting to just play the game and not do superstar interviews.

That is a bunch of BS

I wonder which reporter called to snitch and cry to the league like a *****.

My money is on JJT or TimmyMcHorseFace. I could even see Watkins doing it. :laugh2:
