Bill Williamson (2:02 PM)

Hey everyone, let's get rolling.

Trevor (Canada)

Do DMC have a big bounce back game against a porous Houston D?
Bill Williamson (2:03 PM)

I think it is time for him to have a big game. I relaly like McFadden's ability, but he has only had one good NFL game.

Richard (Greensboro, NC)

The Broncos are 3-0, and despite playing a couple weak teams, they look good. What will keep the Broncos from taking the division's playoff spot from the Chargers?
Bill Williamson (2:05 PM)

I think the Broncos have to prove three things.I. Can Orton keep it up this mistake-free ball?2. Can the defense stay dominant.3. Can the Broncos surive the next 10 games. If they can answer all of those questions, this could be a playoff team.

Stuart (Brooklyn, NY)

Hey Bill. Thanks for your great AFC West info over the years. What are your thoughts on how well Sproles or LT will do in Steeler Town? My feeling with Pitt at 1-2, they will be seething and SD will have to rely on Rivers to win the game.
Bill Williamson (2:07 PM)

I think we'll see LT and I think the Chargers should give rhe Steelers a helthy dose of both LT and Sproles. The Chrgrs will need both the pssing game and the running gmae to beat the Steelers.

James (Kansas)

Bill, Many people here in KC are getting all over Haley and saying that he isnt a HC in the NFL. Do you think that KC would be any better than 2-5 (with our talent at Key position) before the bye week with Cowher or Shanahan at the helm? I dont!
Bill Williamson (2:10 PM)

People need to give Haley time. His team is not good, but he is building a program. He'll be the guy all season and into next season. He needs to get this thing going next year. He's fine for this year.

J.B. (Dunmore, PA)

It is beginning to seem like KC gave up too much for Cassell?
Bill Williamson (2:11 PM)

No way, he was a steal for a second-round pick. And don't forget Mike Vrabel was part of the deal. Casel will be fine.

OFBB (KC)

Williamson - what do you see as the way the Raiders can clean the slate and get their offense back on track? Jamarcus is a corpse; McFadden is running in a vat of dough; and DHB has no hands.
Bill Williamson (2:14 PM)

I think the most worrisome part of this is the running game has been weak. It was supposed to be top-notch. We all suspected the passing gmame would be weak. But he running game was supposed to carry the load. Thus far, that hasn't happened in Oakland.

Jason (Oakland)

Does Al Davis regret saying "Jamarcus Russell is a good quarterback" after the Kiffin firing?
Bill Williamson (2:15 PM)

I don't know if Al regrets much, Jason.

Marc (Charlotte)

Ryan Leaf or JaMarcus Russell... Who's worse?
Bill Williamson (2:16 PM)

Leaf ... Check back next week, please.

Chris (Ann Arbor, MI)

Are any of the young Chiefs defenders looking like emerging players?
Bill Williamson (2:19 PM)

Dorsey is getting better and I really like CB Brandon Flowers. Tyson Jackson should be fine as well.

Ryan (NJ)

BW what's crack-a-lackin? Will we see Royal's production increase back to last seasons level?
Bill Williamson (2:21 PM)

That needs to happen. Look, we can't complain about what Denver is doing, but Royal could help, especially with the increased competition. He needs to be on the field more.

Shawn (Toronto)

Bill, do you think Larry Johnson has lost a step? He's approaching that age but from watching their games, it looks like he is being swarmed in his own backfield a lot so its tough to tell.
Bill Williamson (2:22 PM)

It looks like it. He can't get anything going. He has 16 runs (of 54) that have been for no gain or for losses. That's not good. Yes, I know his O-line stinks, but Jonson isn't creating much.

Buck (SF)

Shaun Hill is taking heat, but is the 11th ranked QB in the NFL. Where would he rank in the AFC West?
Bill Williamson (2:23 PM)

He's already in the AFC West. His name is Kyle Orton.

Phelps (CR)

how do you see the division finishing after the first 3games??
Bill Williamson (2:24 PM)

I think it is going to be an interesting race. I still give San Diego a slight edge over Denver.

Memo (Temecula)

Bill, do you really think the Chargers have a good chance to win this weekend in Steel town? What needs to happen for them to win?
Bill Williamson (2:26 PM)

I do think they can win. I would help if Troy P. doesn't play. San Diego needs to be better in the red zone and start better on defense. If those things happen, San Diego could win. It would be a great win for Norv Turner.

SprungOnSports (Long Island)

Do you expect Denver to continue playing so well on defense against their first quality opponent?
Bill Williamson (2:28 PM)

I think so. Good defense usually remains. It is so difficult to get into a good defensive groove, I think once it is establsihed it remains. Make sense?

Jared (NC)

Who do you think will have the best performance in the AFC West this week?
Bill Williamson (2:29 PM)

Good question: Assuming you mean a player, i'll say Philip Rivers. He is playing at such a high level right now, I think it will continue.

dylan (kansas)

What key players do you see Pioli trading in the offseason in order to stockpile more picks?
Bill Williamson (2:30 PM)

Maybe Bowe or Dorsey.

Robb (Colorado)

Bill,Any chance the Broncos can go 4-4 in their next 8? I think some of the teams who were supposed to be really good before the season, ie. Commanders, Cowboys, Steelers, may not be as good as thought.
Bill Williamson (2:30 PM)

If Denver can 5-5 in the next 10 games, it will be in the playoff mix.

Gau (Cedar Falls, IA)

What's the deal with the Raiders? They come out firing against San Diego and look like a playoff contender. Then they struggle against KC and get killed by Denver. What does Oakland have to do to look like the week 1 team again?
Bill Williamson (2:31 PM)

I don't know, very strange. That is what's so dissapointing. They were fired up in Week 1 and then they've just been a disaster.

dan (san diego)

Bill I dont understand why SD is going to go back to a guy like Vasquez whose only game experience came in 2 1/1 ugly quarters vs Oakland. We couldnt run the ball very well and the pass protection suffered. Dombrowski has come in and done a very nice job, also i will add that hes got some quick experience playing rabid defenses (like the one we will face in Pitt). Why would we go back to a rookie with almost no experience who didnt look very good in the first place?
Bill Williamson (2:33 PM)

The Chargers really believe in Vasquez. They think he can be a star, so he's getting back on the field.

Buck (SF)

Shaun Hill is 9-4 as a starter and should be 11-2. You really think Orton is the same QB?
Bill Williamson (2:34 PM)

I'm not into "should bes," I'm into what it is, Buck. I've never been a big Ooton guy but he's 24-12 as a starter. Not bad, either.

Bill (dodge city)

Do you expect Pioli to start spending some of his huge cap room on free agents this offseason or will he wait another year?
Bill Williamson (2:36 PM)

He better start getting some talent in there. It's very clear the Chiefs need mroe talent.

Fulmzy (San Diego)

When will WE get Tomlinson back?
Bill Williamson (2:36 PM)

Probably Sunday, unless there is a setback.

Troy (Washington DC)

I got an NFC question, hopefully you dont mind. How bad really are my Washington Commanders? and Although I am a big Campbell fan, do you think that if Zorn gets the hook, Campbell should too? Theres no way you can expect him to perform any better than he is if you bring in another new coach. He has had 4 different coaches and just as many offensive coordinators. What are your thoughts?
Bill Williamson (2:38 PM)

We're throw out an NFC East bone, Troy ... The Commanders should be a lot of better. But I think Zorn may be a wee bit overmatched. I expect to see Mike Shanahan roaming the sidelines in Washington next season. See, it all goes back to the AFC West.

Bret (Oly,WA)

And with the first pick in the 2010 NFL draft the Raiders select...?
Bill Williamson (2:40 PM)

If Oakland really has the No. 1 pick, I say they'll take Sam Bradford. Becuase if the Raiders go 1-15 or 2-14 (and I don't think they will), Russell wll be gone, gone, gone.

Shawn (Toronto)

And with the first pick of the 2010 NFL Draft, the Chiefs select....?
Bill Williamson (2:40 PM)

Nice retort, Shawn.

Bill Williamson (2:40 PM)

Nice retort, Shawn.

jacob (kansas)

do you see McDaniels selecting "his guy" at qb in the first 2 rounds this year?
Bill Williamson (2:43 PM)

If he falls in love with a guy. But I think he likes Brandstater for the future as of now. But I think McDaniels wil always look for QB prospects late in evry draft.

Steve (San Francisco)

How long before Chris Chambers loses his starting job in favor of Malcom or Legedu?
Bill Williamson (2:43 PM)

I'm a big Legedu gu ... I think he will get more and more playing time.

matt (kansas)

What are the three biggest pieces missing for the chiefs?
Bill Williamson (2:44 PM)

OL, LB, WR

Ryan (NJ)

What do you see the final division standings looking like now?
Bill Williamson (2:45 PM)

Again, this could change week-to-weekSan DiegoDenverOaklandKC

Bill Belichick (NE)

with the 1st pick in the 2010 draft, The Patroits select Eric Berry (thanks Oakland)!
Bill Williamson (2:45 PM)

It's 2011, but I'll give you credit for trying.

Vijay (NYC)

Any news on the injuries to Hamilton and Harris? Will they play against Dallas?
Bill Williamson (2:47 PM)

I think we'll know more later in the week. But I don't think either injury is overly serious right now.

Mark (Albuquerque)

Who do you think is the face of Denver's resurgent defense, Brian Dawkins or Elvis Dumervil?
Bill Williamson (2:48 PM)

I'd say Elvis, but you have to put Champ Bailey in the mix as well.

me (my house)

Gates has not been his usual self yet this year. Are we seeing the demise of Antonio Gates', or is it just a matter of teams keying on him (thus leaving VJackson open for his huge games)?
Bill Williamson (2:50 PM)

I've seen the Chargers in their fist two games and I thought Gates was playing pretty well.

Buck (SF)

I know you have mentioned the SF Giants in your chats, we're you crying last night? Good season, they need a legit hitter.
Bill Williamson (2:51 PM)

I've been been crying for a few weeks on that one.

Don (Atascadero, Ca)

Do you think the Raiders should try to get Garcia back?
Bill Williamson (2:54 PM)

If JaMarcus is horrible again this week, I think they may have consider it. I think the key about Garcia to Oakland is if the the rest of the Oakland roster plays well and the team thinks the only thing keeping it from being a playoff team is Russell. But the way Okaland's overall team has played the past two weeks, I'm not sure Russell is the only problem.

john (denver)

is champ a bit washed up? if so should denver look to trade while he still has value? maybe send him to the pats who would give champ a shot at a ring? he deserves it.
Bill Williamson (2:55 PM)

No, he's playing very well.

Jason (Parker, CO)

Bill, what do you think DOOM will have to do to have a chance @ MVP. I see he's already on the prospective list w/ only 6 sacks. BTW, GO BRONCOS and forgot those that doubt. LOL
Bill Williamson (2:57 PM)

Well, if he goes completely nuts and finishes with 25 sacks (he has six in three games) and Denver's defense keeps up this incredible pace, he'd have a shot. But it's a longshot.

Bill Williamson (2:57 PM)

Chris (NYC)

If Oakland wins less than four games, there is no way Cable is the coach next season
Bill Williamson (2:58 PM)

Combine the record with potential felony charges, you might be right.

Matt (Jersey)

Hey - Is it me or does Philip Rivers put more arc on the ball then any other qb in the NFL. It seems to be working with big-man VJAX. Why havent other QBs with big wideouts caught on?
Bill Williamson (2:59 PM)

Rivers is throwing the league's prettiest deep ball these days.

Doug (Colorado Springs)

How many victories do the Broncos need for people to quit labeling them "pretenders"?
Bill Williamson (2:59 PM)

10, I'd say.

bill (KC)

what value would dorsey fetch in a trade?
Bill Williamson (3:00 PM)

A first or a second rounder.

Bret (Oly, WA)

Do you feel Tim Tebow is gaining any credibility as an NFL prospect?
Bill Williamson (3:01 PM)

I'm no NFL scout, but the guy is a winner. I'd give him a shot. I'm not sure if I'd spend a first-round pick on him, but he's worth a look. Kid's a winner.

Bill Williamson (3:02 PM)

Hey everyone, awesome hour. Lots of funs. Thanks and enjoy Week 4. Talk to you next week.
