Caught the end of a sports show yesterday Lockhart was on. He was disgusted with Romo's attitude - said The Cwboys needed to get rid of him now.

Quoted what Romo said after the last game "if we win the Super Bowl, Great; if we lose, great. If losing that "game" is the worst thing that ever happens...

This is the guy that supposed to be leading the team?!

If we got rid of everyone a talking head says we should, we would be left with practically nobody. *YAWN*

I'm sure I could find a so-so ex-player that wanted to keep him.

Not sure what your point is...

Romo is too talented to give up on, but drafting a QB early or the middle rounds at latest is probably the right thing to do. It would be a not so subtle message to him and would also be good insurance within a yr or two that if Romo doesnt start improving and doing all the little things he needs to do, they have an option waiting.

Lockhart? I hate to say who cares.........but who cares?

Eugene played with heart and passion. He played on some bad teams and gave everything he had to the Boys. I care what he has to say.

Romo is no leader; it's fairly obvious he doesn't even want to be.

I thought "oh well" when he took the vacation last year before the playoffs but this statement seems so flippant.

The fans care more than the players!

Romo should of gone off to the press, because we all know that proves how much a player loves the game and is an asset to the team.

Perfect analysis...................
This guy could be Championship caliber. I ain't given up on him at all. But the word I've been using is "Holmgrenized". Romo needs to be Holmgrenized, as in Brett Favre. Romo is the closest thing to Favre I've ever seen on many levels. With that kind of attention from someone qualified for a couple/few years, I believe he could bring a couple Rings to the table.
Absent that, Yeah, draft a QB soon and start getting him ready just in case.......

Well Roger Staubach is another former Cowboy who played with heart and passion and has with better credentials than Lockhart and he thinks Romo could win multiple super bowls.

Just saying former players don't corner the market on expertise when it comes to current players.

Ok here is the deal... he is probably just being nonchalant because he doesnt want to show anything to the media.. ie. nothing bothers me....

BUT.... after a while you start buying into your own "fluff".... THAT is a concern for me with Romo.

I doubt many, if any, people here could say they don't have concerns about Romo and pass a polygraph.

With that said, we need a backup anyway and it wouldn't make sense to cut him, so there's really no argument about what to do going forward. We'll just have to wait and see how he turns out.

He needs to learn what he can say to the public. He needs to think that to be able to shake off a bad play or game. He doesn't need to say that to the public. Tony appears to be badly hurt to me.

And the Holgremized statement is perfect.

It would be the right thing to do if he had an attitude transplant with Irvin.

Why we have not been grooming someone since last year is beyond me. There is a reason NE had Cassel ready to go when Brady went down, or a Brady ready to go when Bledsoe went down.

Wonder what Kenny Gant thinks of the Palestinian situation?

Lets not exaggerate here, they were this <> close to cutting the guy outright during preseason. It wasnt like they had any idea what they had with him.

I'm also one of those that believes his season was a fluke. If he goes elsewhere and gets huge $$$, that team is probably going to be sadly disappointed.

Otherwise your point is valid to a certain extent, although what you and others contend with this argument is exactly what the franchise did with Romo. He was never drafted with the idea he was going to be the guy instantly, he was a project.
