The only reason they have cap issues is exceptional drafting and now having to find a way to keep them. They can let Tate walk and still be a contender. It's after next season with Sherman, Thomas, and Wilson needing contracts that things get dicey.

They'll still have a great young core after that. Keep drafting well and they'll continue to be a NFC force.

They have little to worry about because they have plenty of cap room. They have little right now but can free up a ton by cutting dead weight. Sidney Rice, Chris Clemons, and Zach Miller are all high cap charge players who free up significant space by being cut. None are worth the cap cost and cutting them frees up almost about $18M in space for 2014 and about $16M in space for 2015, pushing their free space next year to $50M.

They appear to have a different approach to the cap than Dallas but if Dallas can afford Carr, Ware, Romo, Lee, Witten, and still sign Dez and Tyron while always being over the cap to start with I don't see why anyone would believe that Seattle can't keep their team together when they have about $70M in cap room between 2014 and 2015.

It'll be interesting to see who wants their money and who does a discount.

Wow, I totally was overrating all this 'dynasty' talk until you laid out all the numbers. 50M in cap space? And it's not like the bulk of their young talent is coming up on contract years. The combination of that youth, strong FO, and cap space...........they can easily dominate for the next 3 years.

Especially considering their closest competitor, SF is older, and are stretched tight against the cap again this year (6M in cap space).

That and Kaepernick probably already hit his ceiling.
